First night, being winter - the heat pump only took the chill out of the air and I had to scrounge other duvets off spare beds. Maybe electric blankets would would be a good idea? or an extra blanket in the rooms.

I stayed two nights. First night in a two bed apartment. It was wonderfully clean and the beds were comfy. The next night, a studio apartment - same comments as above EXCEPT the heat pump made it wonderfully toasty!

Out of the way from the majority of shops

A seperate kitchen, living space and bedroom made it feel more like home.

Other people next door to us were loud and talking outside quite late at night, then there was the noise within their unit, a lot of banging around in their room.

Location was great and close to all amenities, especially Waikato hospital. The place was clean and comfy, but noise from other people staying was not good.

The whole bathroom gets very wet when showering as the shower is not enclosed.

The kitchen was a bit skinny and a little tricky to manoeuvre two people in there.

We had our own outdoor area. The bed was very comfortable, loved it, it was quite large as well. Very open plan, so seemed nice and spacious Beautiful older building that is being renovated.

The bed was a little firmer than we prefer. The curtains over the door made getting in and out a bit of a mission at night. Hard floors, rather than carpet and the couch was small and cold too.

Good location at the foody end of town. Good tea and fresh milk provided. Clean. Good heating. Good value for the price.

Heat blanket in bed would have been great

We booked unit for family coming over from Melbourne to visit another family member at Waikato Hospital. Generous spacy unit, comfy beds, heat pump great, good location to hospital, easy parking

From the time we entered Colonial City Motel we were treated with nothing but kindness and me and my family and I felt so welcomed.The Property was clean and had exactly what we needed for our stay 😊It was affordable,and we'll kept.This will now be the place I stay with my family everytime I visit Hamilton.So if you're looking for a Motel that is Clean,Staff are friendly and close to the Gardens,Lake,City Center and is affordable for you and your whanau this would be it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Only issue was the bathroom floor and walls all get wet when having a shower. There was no bath mat or hand towel on arrival but this was fixed the next day. If we had of gone and asked I’m sure this would have been rectified straight away.

The bed and pillows were so comfortable. Loved the location and the room was huge. Didn’t have much to do with the staff other than when we booked in, found the guy to be very friendly and helpful.

Despite block out curtains for my personal taste it wasn't as dark as I like it. Lights outside just bit too bright. When we come back I bring my eye mask😂

We actually loved it. Visiting family member at hospital, perfect location. Walking distance or short drive to lots of pubs and eateries. Very spacious studio unit. Comfy bed with super crisp sheets. Great working heat pump and awesome pressure in shower. Easy parking. We felt great value for money.

The newer units are spotless, but the outdoor lighting to our unit made it very bright at night. Better with some weaker bulbs or blacker curtains.

The deep bathtub was not easy to get into. Due to the age of the building, it has a slight musty mildew smell.

This is close to the airpot and restaurants. The owner is very nice and offers good restaurant suggestions .
