Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty

- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

The hotel is looking very run down and shabby. The bathroom really needed a revamp. The bath had rusty chips out of it. There was no extraction fan, so it got very steamy. The room was small and pokey for the 3 of us. Parking was expensive at $30 per night, especially when it is not guaranteed. We ended up parking on the street both nights.
The location worked perfectly for us, walking distance to Spark Arena for the concert. The staff are lovely Wonderful hot water in the shower and the beds were comfortable..

The hotel is badly in need of an upgrade - scratched furniture and was disappointed there was no duvet on the beds only a blanket with a sheet under and above The day we arrived the bar was closed due to staff shortage.
The staff were pleasant, the location was near all things we wanted to visit

The worst breakfast I've ever had, the bacon was really think and looked uncooked and as though it had been left in the sun to harden.
Staff were friendly and helpful. My bed was comfy, shower, television all great. However I was in a corner room and there was a lot of noise outside. At one time I thought someone was trying to get into my room.

Original room offered was rather grubby and had not been cleaned to a standard we would expect of a Copthorne Hotel. When we complained the staff were quick to move us to a superior, clean and very comfortable room.
Had concerns as to the cleanliness of the room we had been allocated. The staff were very quick to offer us an alternative and superior room.

The bathroom, particularly the shower really needs a deep clean, mold on shower door seals and tile grout, shower head needs cleaning, mold was also on the sink tap which is concerning as that’s where you have to brush your teeth. There was a black mark on the bedding when we arrived so unsure if the sheets were changed but we slept in the other bed.

Rooms are out of date but the beds are really nice and comfortable don't go in expecting a brand new hotel because it's not. But would stay again if attending spark arena.and I'm sure the amenities will get updated with time
Location was great close proximity to spark arena restaurant was convenient and the food is well priced the added breakfast is worth it less selection then a previous stay but still good.

The room is very dated, and the bathroom especially was in need of a refurbish.
The staff were excellent and very friendly. The location was fantastic, close enought to Queen Street to walk but far enough away that it's not too loud at night time. Beds were clean and comfortable.

The furnishings are a bit dated and could do with a refresh. $50 deposit required at time of checking in which wasn’t noted in prior communications before arriving.
Location, easy walk to Queen St and the Viaduct. Staff friendly and welcoming. Beds were comfy!

Needs updating, and sprucing up. Our shower door didnt close so water went on the floor. The toilet needed a new seat. Our fridge froze the contents solid. The aircon is very very loud and rattly couldnt sleep with it on as its too noisy

It’s very tired. Broken tiles in bathroom, just a bit shabby for the price in my opinion. Breakfast was included but the food had mostly run out when we went down. They brought out more bacon but it was nearly uncooked. It’s the little things that add up.
Location was brilliant. Concert at Spark Arena which was super close. Albeit the walkway was scary, but luckily after the concert there were lots of people around so it didn’t seem as frightening as it looked like it would be walking down.
