Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomShower pressure and hot water not great. A few loud guests in the corridors.
It is a budget hotel - you get what you pay for. My room had all the basic / fundamental things which one expects, and it was enough for one night. It was nice having the kettle, desk and mini fridge but they were all very small and basic.

IrelandThis is more a large hostel with private rooms/shared bathrooms in a very dated building than it is a hotel with modern comforts. If you are happy with this (as I was for a night), then its fine.
The location was great. Bed was pretty comfortable.

New ZealandEverything looked clean, except for when I went to take a shower, I found some hair in it, which made me feel a bit grossed out. And the curtain was a little bit short so some light was coming right on my eyes in the morning.
Everything was good for the price, small and tidy room, and very cheap

AustraliaThere was nowhere to meet in the foyer area as the area was closed. The staff could have put up a communication as to the time frame was going to be closed. They could also add some additional lounge chairs in the foyer (there is room) and table and chairs where the toasters are.
The location is excellent, rooms clean and beds comfortable. Yes is in need of some love but for the location and price it is excellent value.

New ZealandThe shared bathrooms were discusting both male and female. The bath mats were replaced daily but everyone had to use the same one there was none in the rooms. The bottom of the shower had mould rotten wood slime in corners and just smelt. I understand it's budget accommodation but it should be clean. There was also no cooking facilities you supply 1 toaster and 1 microwave in reception for the entire place. But no plates or bowls or knives and forks. Your cheap accommodation becomes very expensive when we are having to buy restaurant food for breakfast lunch and dinner. You have a bar and restaurant that is not currently open the cost to chuck a couple of ovens in there and a couple of fridges isn't that much. You most likely have them in the restaurant kitchen already. It would be the perfect place for people to be able to cook and eat. You're the first place I have stayed in where we couldn't even have a bowl of cereal in the morning because there were no plates.

New ZealandShower took a very very long time to heat up, I had a cold shower and was almost done showering when the hot water kicked in, but was nice after that. Had to park in one of the Wilson car parks which added to the cost considerably.
Good location, good price, fine for 1 night. Allowed early check in which was extremely helpful.

New Zealandof course the shared bathroom situation is less than ideal but manageable. the only down side of this place is that they do not have an area where to sit to chill or have something to eat. There is an area with microwave and a kettle but no tables to sit at (there was one big table taken by one very unfriendly guy who told us it was his private office space :(
Location was great, I think it is a good place for a short stay as it is comfortable enough, and a great value for the price. The beds were very comfy and everything quiet clean and tidy
