New ZealandMy partner was disappointed that we weren't in the main house, but I reminded him that the studio had a spa bath! The bed could have been a bit more comfortable, the mattress was a bit soft. We would have also preferred to have had a choice on whether we wanted to have our room serviced each day.
Great location for getting about Christchurch. We had our own car but there is a bus stop right outside. Good bakery and cafe very close by and walking distance to another good cafe and a stunning restaurant 'Gatherings'. We chose the studio with a spa bath when booking. The studio was comfortable with a well-equipped kitchen and the spa bath which got a lot of use as we stayed during winter with low temperatures. Beautiful to see the main house and old protected tree each time we went out, and learning about its history even though we didn't stay in the rooms in the main house. Next time!

AustraliaWe really enjoyed our stay in Merivale and Christchurch. Great spot for dining and shopping and accessing the city. We had a vehicle and that made it easy to get around. Grant and Maree were fabulous host and generous with their information and knowledge of places to eat and visit and they were spot on. Merivale Manor being a historic building had 2 flights of stairs to get upstairs and we had lovely old and spacious room. We had a requested a twin room and it had a queen bed and single both of which were very comfortable. Great shower and nice bathroom. Thanks so much to Grant and Maree

There was such attention to detail in my room - it was comfortable, spotless and had lovely touches. The breakfast was also a highlight—I felt so welcomed and prepared for my hiking tour this week. Fresh array of breakfast granola and yoghart, juice, toast and jams and vegemite. Range of coffee and teas. Fresh range of fruit. Breakfast delivered evening prior.The accomodation was beautifully maintained and clean. Bed was comfy. A lovely verandah to sit and read with a glass of wine. Host Gin was very helpful. She arranged our transport to the airport without fuss. Location of Manor was good with a range of eating places a 5 minute walk. Location was close to town. Thanks to Gin for looking after us.
