Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesProperty is fine, feels like part of a parking garage. Building is not especially warm, welcoming or aesthetically pleasing and private rooms are very basic, but you get what you pay for.

New ZealandUnfortunately, the cleanliness and tidiness habits of some guests mean that the small kitchen area doesn't stay clean for long, and the bedroom remains untidy.
The tranquility of the place and the respect for quiet hours, even though the hostel isn't large and many people were staying there. The bed was comfortable and you have the right to a locker, the bathrooms and showers were clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful.

KazakhstanThe main disadvantage is the lack of windows in the rooms, which causes problems with ventilation. Unfortunately, not all guests follow the rules of hygiene, which leads to an unpleasant smell.
The hostel has generally good quality accommodation at an affordable price. The kitchen is conveniently equipped, although sometimes it is difficult to find a free place. In general, the hostel is suitable for a short budget stay, but it is important to be prepared for these nuances.

NetherlandsApparently some rooms didn't have windows. I luckily did, but I'm not sure we could even op them. Fresh air would be nice! In the mornings they would open all rooms at the same time and leave the doors open for hours. If you have valuable things, don't leave them around! Lockers were a bit on the small side for you to add your valuable items.
Everything was really clean and well taken care of. It was not messy or anything, most of the time, and the cleaner came in many times a day. This was great! Small hostel, so it is easy to meet new people, feel safe and it makes it probably easy not to get messy. It was also not too too hot in the rooms most of the times and the personnel asked us whether they needed to increase the AC for us, which was great!

Germanythe beds are squeaky so it's better to sleep with earplugs, and not all of the rooms have windows so the air can be a bit stuffy.
it's a small hostel, so it's great for meeting new people. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The kitchen was equipped with everything you need and the bathroom was clean.

New ZealandAs per the other reviews, the kitchen is a little small and has a million signs stating the rules. Not sure if it has parking, although there is a Wilson's Parking Space and street nearby. These aren't really issues though, just things to note - overall would still really recommend this place! :)
Great hostel with lots of awesome people travelling from overseas, the vibe here was so nice and friendly! The hostel itself is clean, centrally located and very secure. Would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Auckland/NZ especially solo travellers or groups.

AustraliaI didn't like the beds themselves, too hard for me. Had a stiff body during my whole stay. The stair access is a minus. The front door is heavy and tends to slam shut if you let go. Other than that I can't think of anything.
Clean rooms and bathrooms, clean kitchen too. The kitchen was extremely well outfitted, and included a rice cooker, an air fryer, a microwave, a baking oven, four hot plates, two kettles, many fridges and pantries, and a lot of utensils. There is also a disability friendly bathroom, however the hostel itself is only accessible via stairs, so if you use a wheel chair you can't realistically stay here. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a lounge with a large flat screen tv with netflix, and three comfy couches. Bath towels are available at reception for a $10 deposit which you'll receive back upon return of the towel. There is a coin laundry machine and a coin dryer which both take $3 to use. The bedrooms are cleaned daily, and are kept at a comfortable temperature, never too cold or too hot. There is a lim chour supermarket across the road, and a busy metropolitan street just past that with lots of restaurants and shops. Secure parking complexes are down the road. They also added bedside containers that hang off the side of the beds for you to put things in, like phones etc.
