It was perfect in every respect!

Ribbonwood was luxury personified! Everything was quality; nothing but the BEST! This was one of the most spectacular holidays we have had. We were warmly greeted by Gary and Robert, two exceptionally talented, kind hosts with wonderful personalities who provided us with epicurean meal delights, beautifully cooked with produce sourced from their own orchard and gardens. Every room at Ribbonwood radiated warmth, sophistication and outstanding decor. The spacious guest rooms were themed according to native flora; everywhere, tasteful artworks enhanced the warmth and sophistication of the relaxing living areas and a cosy fire and spa pool added to the unparalleled amenities. The immediate exterior of this beautifully-presented, hill-top location was a horticulturalist's dream with extensive lawns, orchards and gardens, manicured and maintained to the highest standard. The panoramic 360 degree views were superb and look out over the Leamington Valley towards the Inland Kaikoura Ranges, Mt Parnassus and Waiau Valley. The hosts' sheep and cattle grazed in this idyllic, serene environment.

Fabulous location and views! These guys are the perfect b&b hosts - both attentive and entertaining. We had dinner on Friday night which was beautifully cooked and presented and both the cooked and continental breakfasts were lovely. Spacious rooms, huge comfy bed, lovely ensuite and nice little finishing touches. Thanks Gary & Robert!

It would be helpful to have some basic cooking facilities or plates/cutlery in our room but I realise this is not how a bed and breakfast service usually works. I am also sure the hosts would have provided cutlery or plates if we had asked but it wasn't essential so we didn't. There were facilities to make hot drinks in our room.

The hosts went over and above to make us welcome and help in any way possible. The setting was beautiful and peaceful. The breakfast was exceptional. The beds were extremely comfortable.

If we could give Ribbonwood more than 10 points, we would. Gary and Robert are warm, welcoming hosts who have carefully considered the needs of their guests and created a very special place to stay. The property, garden and views are all stunning, the rooms are beautiful and so comfortable, and breakfast is terrific. We loved every moment of our stay and very much hope to go back.

Nothing, everything was just great! 5star in every respect so great value for money. Cannot find a single fault. Two nights were not enough!

High quality, extremely comfortable beautiful inside and out. Location was peaceful and views were fantastic. Wonderful rooms, great decor and very comfortable, excellent food. Gary and Robert were terrific hosts, nothing was too much trouble. The food was amazing and the service was outstanding. We were made to feel welcome and enjoyed the whole experience. The garden is amazing and the animals and home grown produce including the pleasure of delicious preserves with freshly cooked bread every day - simply fantastic. Breath taking veiws of the rolling Canterbury hills transforming into a magical star lit night sky. Only having 1 night. We would definitely have stayed for longer if our itinerary allowed it.

What a wonderful location for our first evening in New Zealand. The Country House has the most stunning views, and we were very sad that we could only stay for one night. The rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated, and the gardens a blaze of colour, a delightful place to recuperate after our long haul flight from Singapore. Huge praise and thanks to our hosts, Gary and Robert, for the very warm welcome into their comfortable relaxing home and the most delicious breakfast the next morning. A perfect start to our holiday.

The location was lovely - a well maintained garden surrounded by tranquil rolling green hills with mountains in the distance. Robert and Gary were excellent hosts. They provided me with a room upgrade concerned that I might be woken by people returning home late. The room facilities were excellent and the breakfast provided a range of homemade jams and poached fruits grown on the premises.

From entering in to leaving, I felt so welcomed and looked after. The hosts are knowledgeable, friendly, and fill of life. Morning breakfast is homemade delicious spreads. There are beautiful sceneries, comfortable rooms, the lounge is comfortable and stunning gardens. There is easy access to Cheviot Town with warm and friendly community. Close to Gore Bay Beach. Everything!! Amazing location, property is superb designed and exceptionally clean, very comfortable beds and awesome owners!!! The food is fresh, tasty made in the house and the chef baked yummy croissants. Next visit we must have dinner there as well!
