Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Dark room - very little natural light. Room was on the back side of the building and looked directly into the attached carpark building.
Nice central Location. Everything we needed was provided.

There didn't appear to be a functioning extractor fan in the bathroom. Otherwise everything was clean and functional apart from minor stains on the carpet.
Excellent central location. Adjacent parking garage less expensive than I thought it would be for overnight parking. I didn't meet any staff and cannot comment on this aspect.

Not having a swipe card for both the door and parking was frustrating considering payment for both was high and different codes? The table in the Apartment is too large for the space and chairs uncomfortable as was the 2 seater couch [which seemed unbalanced -large table and small couch?]No external seats to sit on outside deck? No paper towels and when I requested more towels etc I was going to be charged until I complained? Only 1 t towel and 1 wipe cloth although I had booked and paid for 4 nights?

Road noise in one bedroom was a bit noticeable but that is all apart of living in the city.
Great location. The room was clean and tidy, and had everything we could need. We really enjoyed our stay.

PARKING SPACE TO TIDE AND IN AND OUT VEHICLE ENTRANCE TO NARROW. UNFORTUNATELY THE SPA AREA START BUTTON IS NOT WORKING.

Little bit of maintenance required in the room, blown light bulb in the bathroom, curtain rails in bedroom and lounge broken at the ceiling and hanging down slightly

There wasn’t anything we didn’t like outside noise was interesting to listen to quite funny.
The price was appealing. The location was perfect close to everything. Room was lovely and clean. Cooked the perfect dinner and breakfast in the well equipped kitchen. Love the balcony as well.

The codes to the carpark and elevator and my room didnt go. sometimes the code wld go to our room and the next it didnt. Was a bit Hoha but nevermind. Also should be noted the oven didnt seem to go. Maybe get someone to take a look. Nga mihi

Loud rubbish trucks at 3 and 4am (which may well have not been for the apartments). Being central Wellington could hear a lot of the street noise
The apartment was in the perfect location in that it was close to the theatre that we were going to that night. Was also close to the supermarket and lots of restaurants and dining out places

Having only one cup, glass etc is annoying. They solved the issue quickly but you shouldn't have to ask. As we use the kitchen it would be nice to have more than two plates, knives etc.
Love the location. The rooms sizes are good and love having a good kitchenette for longer stays.

The couch and armchair need replacing, the material is worn and the arms have collapsed. Next lounge suite you buy make sure its not chunky like the current ones as they overpower the room and take up too much precious space.
The apartment was clean and tidy. Good size bath tub and beds soft and comfy. Nice little terraces to take in the city.

There was dust all around the fan in the bathroom. At night time it was quite loud outside. The bedroom that led out to the balcony was quite cold too. The first couple of people who checked us in weren’t super welcoming.
The fact that it’s pet friendly was a huge factor for us, the lovely note that they left, welcoming our dog was cute and a lovely touch. The location of the property was a plus as well! And the guy who was on reception throughout our stay was really lovely.

Slight street noise as only single glacing. Not enough noise to stop me from rebooking the accommodation.
Bed was very comfortable. Rooms were clean and tidy. Had everything we needed. Lovely fluffy towels. Pincode access, which was very convenient. No cards to worry about. Great location for James Theatre, Museum and good restaurants.

Parking - needs better signage.
Location was primo, within walking distance to Courtney Place and the many restaurants for dinner. Love that it is close to Moore Wilson, a parking area, convenience store and we had a room with a city view.
