Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Arab EmiratesSuch a beautiful little property amongst the ruins. We stayed there as a family of four for two nights. Rooms are small, but that was expected. It was clean and cozy. The rooms and the rest of the hotel had beautiful details, you knew the owner had carefully added special touches that made the whole place so charming. Highly recommend staying here for a night or two, and exploring the town, natural wonders and the attractions nearby in Nizwa. My kids enjoyed exploring the inn and surrounding areas and playing with Sabah, their housecat. We stayed during the last two days of Ramadan, so we didn't get breakfast and the cafe was shut. But we already knew this, so we came prepared with our own meals. Highly recommend Bait Al Sabah Heritage Inn!

FranceThe only weak point is the wifi that is present but a little slow otherwise do not hesitate anymore.
The hotel has a rather rustic/traditional appearance and in accordance with the environment, while having "modern" services and equipment with everything you need (slips, towel, fridge, kettle, tea, coffee...). The room is quite large with pitches to store these things, there is space. The location is very nice and nothing is very far. There is the possibility of eating with a more than complete menu made available to you and breakfast is included (8-10am) taking place in the open air on a rooftop so possibility to eat with a superb view.

Just stayed for one night on the way back to Muscat. Beautiful place in old historic building. Great location. Our room was small but totally adequate. Wonderful cafe with terraces overlooking old village and surrounding oasis and mountains.

GermanyNo comment = It was magical in every way...
Bait Alsabah was exceptionally hospitable and thoughtful in details to make guests feel welcome on arrival and departure (welcome complimentary drinks, extra bedding, toiletries that were organic products of a local brand). Very quiet, peaceful and truly atmospheric, retaining the feel of the old city, despite the complete renovations that have transformed it into a boutique hotel - it is hard to beat! I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and look forward to taking other visitors there to see authentic traditional culture!

FranceThe location is fabulous; the Heritage Inn is actually in the old part of the abandoned village with excellent access. Restauration work is superb and the café on the terrace has an incredible view. We loved being able to chat to the friendly omani students who were also chilling at the Café.

North MacedoniaBeautiful authentic Omani house next to the ruins of a village which you can freely explore only steps from your hotel room. Delicious breakfast and friendly staff. Although the room was a little compact and the bathroom tiny, the charm and history of the place more than compensated for it.

United Arab EmiratesWe booked two rooms, in one of the room which had a sink inside the room, we found small crawlies in the morning. The staff told us this could come from the roof and could be wood termites but we assumed we found little maggots in the sink... Considering the building is quite old, I guess this could happen to anyone.
Location, food, outdoor cafe and rooms were amazing, there is parking outside the school area. The area for Birkat al Mouz has an interesting history and you could walk around the whole area in an 1-2 hours to take in the culture. The hotel connects to the water canal (falaj) system and you could follow the path of the water from the source to all connecting channels to the date farms. Amazing experience
