Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaWell the floods wasn't what we expected in a desert!
The host was wonderful. We got caught up with the floods and he (so sorry but didn't pick up his name 😔) was amazing in looking after us. And the desert is an awesome experience. Walk it, look at it and just feel the tranquility.

OmanFood quality needs to be improved. No Internet & cellular access. More lights esp at night would have been great.
A great place to experience the desert. It’s secure however it can be improved a lot. Washrooms were clean and we had the open air experience (no roof) The sunset drive on the desert on 4x4 suv was very good.

ItalyAmazing experience. It provides a genuine taste of the desert (great sights of dunes and starry nights, a sunset trip to the dunes with the extra perk of dune riding on a jeep), but also offers enough comfort for those who are not too keen on camping. The tents are large, clean and equipped with soft beds and even a small restroom (where you can truly shower under the stars). The staff is very nice. Absolutely recommended.

Germany- Beds pretty uncomfortable, could use some new mattresses - Despite the picture on booking.com, the 2 person tent does NOT have a private bathroom. In our case, 2 tents shared a bathroom between the tents
- highly recommend booking the desert drive for 30 OMR (per car), this included the transfer to/from the camp from the parking lot. The drive to the camp includes a serious uphill section, a cheap 4x4 rental got stuck several and couldn't make it. The desert drive is lots of fun, the driver will drive to 2 viewpoints (for sunset) with fun dune driving in between.

AustraliaBeds a bit uncomfortable. Be aware if you rent a 4WD and decide to drive yourself there is a pretty big dune you need to get over to get to the camp which could be a challenge for the inexperienced
Great location. Simple but plentiful food. Great experience to spend the night in the desert

Czech RepublicThe dinner and breakfast were very basic. Not great.
We were picked up by the owner and he took us for a ride through the dessert to see a sunset. This was the highlight of the stay, together with meeting hs camels.

Hong KongNothing.
The desert camp is well located to see the extraordinary beautiful sunset. The camp tents are big and comfort to shelter 5-6 people with open sky showering room. Delicious Omani dinner with loads of fruits provided and we specially like the Omani tea and coffee. Camel ride and sunset ride on a 4-wheels car are great experience too.

Fantastic stay at Desert Wonders Camp - I would highly recommend to anybody considering to book, look no further! We took a transfer into the desert, which included a sunset tour. Nassar was great, driving around the dunes and telling us all about the desert and how it has changed over the years. We even met his camels, who were very friendly and loved a pet! Sunset was really beautiful, I would recommend taking the tour if you come. The tent we had was great - large and very comfortable. For food - dinner and breakfast were simple but very well cooked, flavourful and plentiful food. Tea, coffee, dates and water are available around the clock. Lastly, all the staff at the camp were very friendly, attentive and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful and unforgettable stay 😊😊🔥🔥

NetherlandsStaff doesn’t speek English, so it’s hard to communicate but they do try We tried sand boarding, but it’s not really possible. After less than a meter you get stuck in the sand. Luckily we did it for free.
The location is amazing, in the middle of the dessert Dune bashing was fun and took you to some nice places to see the sunset Dinner was good, breakfast was fine They make you a campfire where you can sit and watch the stars We had an amazing time!

SloveniaThe transfer (15 minutes) from the meeting point is pethaps a bit on the expensive side ( 15 OMR).
Great location out of everything in the middle of the desert. A short climb to the top of the big dune with amazing views. Nice staff, though they speak only basic English. Nice dinner, tasty and sitting by the fire enjoying the stars later. The tents are clean ans spacious with roofless bathroom attached. Great for spending a night away from almost everything.

AustraliaThe only thing that I would change with my stay would be the pick up location for the shuttle to the camp needs a sign to indicate that you're in the correct location. I've included a photo of where this location is for anyone who might be unsure when they arrive.
The desert camp far exceeded my expectations for an experience in the desert. The location was quiet and secluded which gave me plenty of time to catch up on my reading. At night the dinner served was amazing and I spent several hours stargazing from outside of my tent (the stars are so visible here, I ended up seeing 3 shooting stars!). In the morning the breakfast was also fantastic and a great way to start the day. The owner and staff were very helpful and happy to assist.
