Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesInformation about the hikes and walks in the vicinity (other than Three Villages) can be pretty challenging to research. It would be great if the hotel had a little book showing the locations and what you can see and do there. But failing that, ask them about Bani Habib and the Lost Villages Walk.
The Hanging Villages Hotel lives up to its name--the hotel is perched on the edge of one of the village terraces. The hotel itself is actually 3 separate houses that have been renovated to the original design with stone walls, roof supports of local tree branches and local art. Our bedroom was slightly small for a king-sized bed; however, the bed was extremely comfortable. The towels were luxurious and the ensuite bathroom was modern and bright. The hotel's restaurant was in a separate building from our room; with a fabulous view into the valley and surrounding terraces. The Three Villages walk starts right outside the front door. Hospitable staff.

FranceThe place is truly beautiful, but the rooms are extremely small and don’t reflect the photos shown on Booking. That said, the staff are wonderful and the hospitality is top-notch.

This is top- class place with modern amenities set in amongst traditional, rustic charm. The room was cosy, comfortable and quiet. We received a very warm, friendly welcome with Omani coffee and treats and the dinner and breakfast served in the cafe with incredible views were great. There is a large rooftop for relaxing on. The location is perfect for exploring the three villages and the terraced gardens on the Three Villages Walk.

We loved our stay with Uncle Ali and the team at Hanging Terraces. As the name suggests, the roof terraces in the hotel that overlooked the garden terraces were great for relaxing after a hike. The rooms were beautifully renovated in the old traditional style. The food was great - nice to have breakfast and dinner included.

BelgiumNothing really, except for the room that we had that was perhaps a bit tight in space.
Those old inhabited houses have been very well renovated while keeping the authentic Omani touch. A stay in this place gives you the opportunity to explore the nearby rose gardens and experience the life of the Jabal Al Akhdar inhabitants. Diner and breakfast are really good with a high variety of choice.

United KingdomThe room was very small but to be fair we didn’t spend much time in it. Breakfast wasn’t great.
The location!! It is in a perfect situation in Al Aqar village with views of the other villages and the rose terraces as well as the mountains and canyon too. The building has lots of character and all the rooms are different. There are three rooftop terrace, all with great views. This is an ideal location to visit the rose terraces.

United Arab EmiratesWe’ve stayed in this property a few times on trips to Jebel Akhdar and love the warm welcome we always receive and look forward to returning. The rooms are well appointed, given the heritage feeling, and we’re never left wanting more. The food in the evenings and mornings is plentiful and good quality.

PortugalPerhaps more of a suggestion rather than a complaint, but loose rocks as a flooring in a shower ain’t the most convenient nor sanitary. Beautiful touch though.
The property is a cliffhanger along the Three Village Hike. Exceptional views of the terraces and comfy rooftop with shades you can enjoy during the day. The dinner was excellent and breakfast was alright. I would say similar views of the Anantara for a fraction of the cost. Parking is nearby (2-3 minutes’ walk)

QatarThere is no shelf to put our toiletries in the bathroom and we didn't like the pebble stones in the shower (it looks nice but is uncomfortable :) We were lucky to have quiet neighbours as we could hear everything from the other bedrooms in the same area, including simply opening and closing the doors. Not related to the hanging terraces: you need a 4x4 to drive to the location. If not, police may stop you at the checkpoint and you have a take a taxi.
The location of the Hanging terraces is perfect for a walk in the villages. The view from our room and the terrace was splendid. Very welcoming host (and very elegant), ready to explain the origin of his family house. Food (dinner and breakfast) was good and plenty + there is snack in the bedroom like dates, cookies, fruits, almonds... Bed was very comfortable.
