The hotel is a bit far from the center, but there is a free daily shuttle to Mutrah Souq.

Everything about this resort was top notch. Each and every detail was looked into. It was my wife's birthday during our stay. The team went above and beyond to make the day special and memorable. Facilities are outstanding, also liked the complimentary cold drinks in the mini cooler box at the poolside. Shout out to Chef Dash also, he catered to our requests during breakfast also.

Food needs a lot of improvement. Set menu at Sultanah is just food from the buffet dished up a bit more fancy. Focus should be more on local food instead of international Lacking personal touch. You're just another guest at the Shangri-La. Marriots and Ritz do a much better job at making you feel like a special guests with things like small talk from the manager during breakfast.

The food. Sorry the food was terrible. We went for our birthday to the fish restaurant as it was recommended by the hotel staff. Sadly the prawns where very mushy and not nice we asked if they were fresh and we were told by 3 waiters they were. Only to be told by the manager they were not (after sending them back twice) it’s such a shame that we were in a beautiful location wanting to enjoy some lovely fresh Omani prawns and they were frozen 😳😳

This is truly a hotel that leaves nothing to be desired. If we had to mention one very minor point, it would be that the restaurant’s interior is a little old-fashioned. However, it didn’t bother us at all and, if anything, added to the hotel’s unique charm.

We were absolutely overwhelmed by the hospitality of the entire staff. In all our travels across different countries, we have rarely experienced such warmth and genuine care. After a minor accident I had at the beach, help was immediate and extremely attentive, which we truly appreciated. The hotel itself is beautifully located, offering stunning views and an atmosphere of complete tranquility. The food was outstanding — especially the breakfast, which was a daily highlight. The private beach was simply a dream: peaceful, immaculate, and exclusive. We also loved the daily afternoon tea with coffee and cake at 3:30 PM, as well as the evening drinks starting at 6 PM — these thoughtful touches made the stay even more special. Through the hotel, we also booked a tour to the Dimaniyat Islands. Although the group was larger than we had originally expected and the experience was not as private as we had imagined, it turned out to be a truly wonderful adventure. We were lucky enough to see whale sharks and dolphins, and we even had the unforgettable experience of swimming with turtles. Normally, we never visit the same hotel twice — but Shangri-La Al Husn will definitely be an exception. We are already looking forward to returning!

The staff and the total experience was beyond imaginable. This stay was all fields of describing exceptional. It is romantic, peaceful, comfortable, appealing, exciting, adventurous, to name a few. I tell all who have asked, that if you go visit a resort in Oman, this is the only place you should go. Meals, dining, evenings, the embodiment of an exceptional vacation stay.
