They could improve signage to the hotel: it’s a bit tricky to find even with Google Maps. However, all people working in the vicinity know where it is and can point you in the right direction.

Great location, great showers, spacious room. Staff went out of their way to help: Our Spanish is poor and they showed my wife where she could buy flip-flops - not on a map, but by walking with her to the right place!

My room had a large street light right outside the window, and the curtains were not blackout curtains, so the room was pretty bright all night.

The location is great. The staff is wonderful. The breakfast starts at 5:30am so I had time to eat before getting in line for the bus to Machu Picchu. And they had an elevator, which I highly appreciated. They stored my backpack while I was at MP and then kept it for hours until my train at 7pm.

The bed covers and rugs need to be updated. The restaurant attached to the hotel is just OK.

You cannot beat this location. The bus that takes you to Machu Picchu is literally right outside the door. And it’s a few minutes walk from the train station. Close to lots of good restaurants and cafés. The bathroom is very update up-to-date and pristine. The receptionist was lovely.

It was a short walk from the Train Station. They sent a person to meet me and take me to the hotel. I had to buy a bus ticket to Machupicchu and we went via the office which was just up the road from hotel. I had a 5am start and they gave me a plentiful and tasty packed breakfast You just need to step out the hotel reception to join the bus queue for ride up mountain. For me it was clean, comfortable and extremely well located. I would stay again.

Nothing - everything was fine. Keep up the great work managing this hotel!

This hotel far exceeded our expectations. The location is unbeatable (as so many others have said). Our room was very comfortable - it appeared recently updated. The bathroom (with bathtub) was very comfortable and spacious with great hot water. The bed was comfortable. As for cleanliness - the room was impeccably CLEAN. All of the furnishings "matched" well. Although located right in front of the bus queue, at night the hotel is very quiet. All you hear is the river. The breakfast staff was pleasant, and the breakfast was sufficient. The front desk was very friendly and helpful with bag storage before and after checkin/checkout. Overall, this is an example of VERY WELL MANAGED property - where everything hums along nicely. I stayed at other properties on this vacation, and they could all learn so much by reviewing how well this property is managed. Price is good. There are TONS of decent dining options within 5-10 mins. Overall, Aguas Calientes far exceeded my expectations. I has more to offer in way of dining options, etc. than, say, Ollantaytambo.

I had zero complaints with the property.

The hotel was very clean, and in a great location. The staff were great, and the reservation was easy. Water pressure is high and the water is very hot - perfect after a long day of hiking. Hotel staff were great and made us breakfast bags (since we couldn’t be there for breakfast) on our Machu Picchu hike. Location is right next to bus stop, and on the cities river. Pharmacy, plaza, restaurants, all within 1 minute walk. I would recommend this hotel to everyone.

LOCATION: This hotel is just next to the bus stop going to MP. It is also walking distance to the train station and the tourist market. They were also nice to provide packed food as we had left about 5am the next morning.

I am not technical. I just wanted to see the news but the TV appeared to be Netflix requiring passwords etc. I didn't bother and went to sleep instead

When it comes to location, Casa de Luz Hotel is spot on. The queue for the bus up to Machu Picchu is literally right outside the hotel entrance, and it’s just a short walk to both the IncaRail and PeruRail stations—exceptionally convenient for travellers. What truly stood out for me, though, was the presence of a space heater in the room—an absolute winner. I visited in June, which is winter in the Southern Hemisphere, and Peru can get surprisingly chilly. Some hotel rooms can feel quite cold, but not at Casa de Luz. Within minutes, my room was warm and cosy. The bed was by far the most comfortable of all six places I stayed during my time in Peru—I slept like a baby. The following morning, I enjoyed a generous and satisfying breakfast before setting off for Machu Picchu.

Window when closed still passes the noise from outside. Towels were not in the room on the check in (though they brought it quickly after request)

Better than I expected from the hotel in such touristy place.

Late at night, my friend was locked out of the hotel and had to wait 20 minutes outside until I returned and let him in. Reception claimed they didn’t know she had gone out because he didn’t leave the key at the front desk, but we were never told to do so. This was frustrating and could have been avoided with better communication.

Not enough counter top or hooks in washroom. I have done a lot of travelling in my life and I would say that the breakfast is the worst breakfast ever. However I would stay here again because of the room and location.

We had river view. Fantastic location. Train station is not far. Corner room with two large view windows. Great shower. Busses to Machu Picchu is located on the street in front of the building. Great water pressure.
