Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ItalyThis eco-lodge is the perfect place to relax by the sea, with beautiful views, sun beds, and kayaks for exploring. The hosting family is incredibly kind and welcoming, striking the perfect balance between friendliness and privacy. Meals are homemade and delicious, shared with just a few guests for a cozy, communal feel. With only a handful of lodges, the atmosphere stays quiet and intimate. Airport transfer is included, which is a big plus given the remote location. A peaceful, authentic escape in paradise.

United Statesit was quite warm so we will admit to missing air conditioning, particularly in the afternoon. The evenings and nights were cool enough.
The snorkeling was great. The room was very airy and fresh. It was at the end of our trip so we just enjoyed staying at the property.

DenmarkIt’s located 15 km from the village, so you will need a carmor scooter to get there. But most tour operators and dive centers have pick-up service, so we didn’t need it.
Beautiful bungalow with seaview. Lovely hosts, and delicious food. I love that they take a stand on protecting the environment and making an effort to leave a minimum impact

SingaporeThis is really great accommodation! Very beautiful, nicely furnished. It looks much better in live than in photos. I didn't expect our chalet to be so luxurious. The food they provided was great quality, very tasty and abundant. We enjoyed terrace a lot, and view was great!

United KingdomFood was home cooked and nice. Despite us being vegetarian and my husband having allergies, we were well catered for. Quite remote but we knew that in advance so not an issue. Any supplies you need, get onthe way. Free transfers arranged by host was a bonus. Trip arranged by host with good advice/communication around this.

Rene and Valerie were great hosts. They clearly take very good care in their property, including the bikes and kayaks. The location is far from town, but this did not bother us. You could go snorkeling and kayaking right at the property. Plus, the meals were outstanding. I have an allergy to nuts and they took great care in preparing wonderful meals without me having to worry.

United StatesAs expected, WiFi was slow on Fakarava, even in town. I rarely had more than 2 bars. I was still able to communicate when I needed and it gave us an opportunity to ditch our phones and truly experience Fakarava.
Rene and Valerie were outstanding hosts who care deeply about the impact of their property on the environment. We stayed in the Honu Bungalow, and woke up each morning to a stunning lagoon view. The bungalows were immaculate; the mosquito netting and breeze kept us virtually free of bug bites without resorting to bug spray. Snorkeling at Fafapiti was outstanding! There were many places to explore right from shore. We saw numerous species of reef fish and large, healthy coral heads. My favorite was learning the interesting behaviors of the gorgeous Picasso triggerfish. We dove two days during our stay. We had no problems getting to our dive shop, and they picked us up within walking distance of Fafapiti for our South Pass dive. We explored the outer reef, spent a couple days in town and went to the Havaiki Pearl Farm, which had the BEST educational component of the 3 pearl farms we visited. We tried several snacks and either biked into town (15 km) or used a taxi service. Breakfast consisted of coffee, yogurt, granola, fruit, baguettes, butter and jams. There was always more than enough to start our day, and the homemade yogurt prompted us to start making our own! Dinners were different daily and based on a consensus of all guests. We had seared tuna, poisson cru, coconut fish, chicken dishes and other local recipes. Valerie made a green papaya side dish that was absolutely outstanding! Desserts were fresh fruit and fruit-based baked treats.

United StatesThis property is very secluded, 15 km (9 miles) from the village at the very end of the flat paved road, with very little in between. The bike ride takes about an hour one way. Stores and restaurants in the village are on limited hours, so plan accordingly. No swaying palm trees or white sand beach here, this property is on a crushed coral lot directly on the lagoon with a small coral beach for access to the water. Bring reef shoes. A moderately sized tree in the outdoor lounge area on the edge of the lagoon is the only real source of shade. Remember that this is also the host's home, so they are usually milling about the property doing yardwork and projects, sometimes steps from your bungalow. A huge communications tower and several other homes sit on the lot next door, reminding us of the times we live in.
The bungalows here are brand new and impeccably clean and very comfortable, and all face west to view the beautiful sunsets from your balcony. Conservation here is the order of the day, and nothing is to be wasted. Electricity is on solar, and water is from rain catchment, both precious resources here on Fakarava. Meals are served communal style in the main dining room, 7a.m. and 7 p.m. Breakfast is simple, with breads, local fruits, coffee, and juice. Dinners are amazing, usually locally sourced seafood and local vegetables, as most everything else in the Tuamotus has to be flown in. Drinking water is free, and reusable bottles are provided. Rene and Valerie are wonderful hosts and will arrange any excursions or transfers as needed. Bicycles and kayaks are available for guests. A great snorkeling location via kayak is a 15-minute paddle from shore, the trip back much longer if it is windy.

United StatesI LOVED being 14km (or whatever) from “downtown”, if acknowledge for some that’s a concern. In my opinion it’s a benefit. There are House Rules too, that some may bristle against. Best advice: read Fafapiti’s profile in detail, communicate with owners ahead of time… Don’t play surprised. No, there’s no AC or TV bahahahahahahahahaha
Location location location; the owners’ general ethos & commitment to ecology; distinctive recipes, thorough food & beverage selections (extraordinary condiments & freshest fresh fish); climate/atmospherics over on & near the property; fantastic local staff! The companion animals & wild sea critters & ever mood-changing skies… Endless insulated thermos containers full of the most delicious water you’ve ever tasted. Curious hermit crabs.

United KingdomNothing.
Good selection of food at breakfast and excellent dinners. The bungalow was spacious and comfortably equipped with excellent quality materials & furniture. Because it's an eco lodge there's no toilet paper but we quickly got used to using the little shower instead. The beach area is really beautiful, tidy, with pic-nic tables, deck chair and the see is so clear that you can lots of fish without even needing a mask! Enough space to have a good swim too. The lodge is quite far from the main town, which makes it a little harder to explore the rest of the island, however René was very helpful in finding us an ebike rental and booking a boat excursion. René's lovely dogs & cats were a bonus!
