Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United StatesI loved this place. It is the perfect French Polynesia indoor open-air cabin hostel. It will be my first choice if it is available again the next time I visit Moorea. The host is wonderful, welcoming, knowledgeable and helpful and lives in a separate home right next to the property. The kitchen, bathrooms and showers are kept clean, and the kitchen is well equipped and well organized. There are doors on the individual cabins, showers and bathrooms, but no doors on the hostel cabin (nor the kitchen cabin - just latching cabinets in the kitchen and an available locker near the rooms). There is a privacy curtain at the entrance of each little hostel room in the hostel cabin - each bed is in its own separate little room, and each bed has a fully enclosed zippered bug net. There are enough bugs that the bug net is necessary, but actually I was surprised that there were so few bugs when I visited in May. The property is set back off the road and It feels safe and secure. Its a small island where the locals say that pretty much everyone knows everyone, and there are dogs that bark whenever someone comes onto the property. I went out of my way to talk with people and everyone I met was nice. The combination of those factors, and the fact that all the other guests were nice made me feel safe and secure, even with no doors. The bed was good,, but it was better when I put my ultra light blow up mattress on it. It's has really nice grounds and atmosphere that made the trip feel authentic, a very pleasant experience. One thing to remember, the sun rises early and goes down early, and when it is down, it gets dark fast. There are practically no street lights, just the lights in homes if they happen to be on, and the locals wake and go to sleep early. So its best to arrive and return before dark. I didn't feel threatened, but the dogs will definitely let you and everyone else know that they don't like it if you arrive after dark.

I can see why this Backpackers made it into Lonely Plant guide. Location was excellent, bed comfy with mozzie net, large room, locker, separate showers and toilets, clean, super size kitchen with all you need. Big verandah to either sit and chill or eat out there. Parking for vehicles too. Walk to closest public beach was 30 minutes and a lovely spot with showers etc or you could drive in 5 minutes heaps of parking

BelgiumEverything is out in the open so giant spiders will invite themselves and that was not a good experience
The place is lovely but a bit far from everything which forces you to either rent a vehicle or hitchhike which is rather easy but can still be dangerous especially for solo female travellers. Camille is a great host and cleans very well!

SpainGreat little hostel, where you get your own space so it feels like a private room, and very pleasant common area / kitchen. It's helpful to be able to use the kitchen and save some money. Easy to meet other solo travellers.

United StatesClean property with amazing staff. The available kitchen is nicely equipped with all the necessities. The dorms were nice and clean too and each bed had its own mosquito net, which I appreciated. The bedrooms is technically a dorm but there are walls separating each bed so you sort of get your own little room/cubicle room. There are no doors to those "cubicles" but a curtain for privacy. Be mindful that it's not very close to the ferry port so you would have to arrange your own transportation there. However I was pleasantly surprise to see that they have agreements with some rental agency and you can get a scooter delivered to you at the lodge and picked up from there as well. I loved my stay there and would stay again.

New ZealandLarge chicken farm close by which doubles the noise of chickens & roosters.
The most organised set up I have seen, each bed has their own space for fridge & dry food storage. Beds enclosed with walls and curtain for great privacy for a dorm & separate men’s/woman’s facilities.

United StatesIt can get hot in the cabins in the afternoon if the sun is really beating down (protected side of the island). Roosters will announce the break of day, maybe even earlier... they are everywhere on Moorea.
Painapaopao Backerpacker has a dorm and common area (with cooking facilities) although we stayed in one of the cabins (with shower and bathroom). The place was clean and it was easy to get the keys despite our arriving a little late. The kitchen looked well supplied and was clean, but we did not cook any meals here. They have a good place to park if you have a car or scooter, although turning into the driveway the first time is a little tricky due to a small sign along the ring road. Friendly staff and visitors made for a great stay on Moorea. Thai food is sometimes available nearby (not open everyday).

RomaniaThe short dirt road getting there.
The dormitory had walls between the beds and that made it seem like I had my own bedroom and, for me, having that privacy was great! Everything was really clean and welcoming. With 2 separate bathrooms for men and women, it was enough for everyone staying there. The kitchen and eating area was really nice, big and clean, with everything you need to store and cook your food.

PolandLocation is a bit tricky to get from the ferry - you have to: either rent a car/scooter by the marina, either take a bus (the bus schedule is really unreliable), or take a taxi (around 30-50€), or hitchhike. Locals are really helpful, and a lot of people stop when you hitchhike :)
I totally loved it! The staff was really friendly. They also checked me in super early with no extra charge. Inside the dorm bungalow, there are partitions between beds, which give everyone a private small room. Really luxurious conditions for a hostel! The room comes with a mosquistiera, small fan and table lamp. The bathroom, kitchen, and common area are really clean and well equipped. I saw a lot of information, magazines about the island and the activities here (in the common area). You can rent snoring equipment, rent a towel, do a laundry, etc... 5-minute walk there is a small thai food truck (1000xpf for a meal). Gorgeous settings (full of greenery, in a garden).

Canada- Both the mosquito nets in the cabin and the dorm had some holes in them enough to let in some mosquitos. There weren't a ton around, so it was okay, but it did make them less effective. - The fan in the cabin doesn't really move a lot of air, even on the highest setting, so it can be quite warm. We prob would have been better off with a stand up fan similar to the dorms. - Lots of loud roosters and dogs in the morning, but that is par for the course in a lot of areas in the island, just be aware it will happen if you're super sensitive about that.
- The two person cabin with private bath was nice. Not right next to the other cabin or the common area so you didn't hear a ton of other people, but close enough to be easy to access everything. - The bed in the dorm was also nice as you had your own little space almost. The small bedside fan in the dorm also worked well. - Bathrooms in both were clean and worked well with plenty of hot (or cold) water as you wished. - The communal spaces were kept clean and functioned well. The people running it as well as the other guests were all very nice, so it was a good environment. The grounds were also beautiful and lush. - Public beach nearby is lovely with great swimming, lounging and snorkeling opportunities.

United KingdomTo get there, or to depart was difficult without a car. Maybe some sort of free or paid transportation, affiliated with the lodge would be helpful. Maybe a shuttle to/from the ferry.
It was an incredible lodge, cheap and clean. It was back to nature, a very simple living style but had necessities for a comfortable stay.

United StatesThere wasn't anything I did not like. The signage from the road was faded so it could be refreshed for curb appeal, although the directions took you directly to the property..
The location for the trails I hiked was perfect and the other guests were very friendly. The shower was like a high volume waterfall, and was so refreshing at the end of the day's activities.

CanadaThis property was so cute! I was staying in one of the dorms, and I liked how it was like a little private bedroom. It was nice to have some privacy as I had been in crowded rooms the rest of my trip. There were also bug nets which were nice to keep the mosquitos away. The openness and calmness of this property was amazing. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay!
