Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SwitzerlandThe bathrooms were quiet old and there were only two for a lot of people, which worked out quiet well, but still, newer facilities would a been nice (it is only the bathroom, rest of the hostel is newer)
Great Value for Money. Quiet, Great Staff (setting up transport, renting a scooter, etc.) They are renovating so, if you read this here (from February 2025) it is now probably nicer and newer.

IrelandDorm with 20 beds - no curtains on top beds , quite dark as some lights didn't work . Second room I had stayed in a room of two beds but it was in a basement so again really dark.
Location - Hostel was quite far away from the centre so I would advise to rent a bike . Staff were really nice , overall kitchen and breakfast were nice .

JerseyThe top bunks could do with a curtain, bottom beds could do with a curtain where the ladder is to get privacy. Also a pool table is shown in the photo’s but their isn’t one so I think that and a larger area for people to relax together would be good but that’s just feedback, I loved my stay there - thank you
Staff were amazing, so friendly and always happy to help

AustriaIt's not finished at all. Construction going on the whole time, we had a room which wasn't finished (no door or curtain - we got one when we asked for it) Beds are very uncomfortable, lots of mosquitoes inside of the room We had no water or if we had some it was only drops. I think they have a lot of potential - but need to finish the things first! 👍🏼
Location is good, you can reach everything quickly (beach, food etc) Breakfast is also nice 👍🏼 Staff is friendly

GermanyConstruction is still ongoing upstairs. Doesn't really matter though because you stay downstairs in one of the dorms. Nice cold AC but it was not everywhere the cleanest. Hard to keep the floor clean due to white tiles that expose dirt very easily.
The staff was very very friendly and the breakfast was simple but good! Their dogs are cute I can recommend staying here if you are looking for something simple and don't have too high of a standard regarding hostels

United KingdomI did struggle with the dorm. The beds were hard so it wasn't a great nights sleep and there were no plug sockets by the bed. I was on a top bunk and there were no privacy curtains so anyone turning the light on in an 16 person dorm meant it was blinding, the bottom bunks did have curtains. The WiFi wouldn't reach the dorm and also the door to open was really loud and bulky which meant people coming in after a late night or leaving early would wake you up. There also wasn't toilet paper in either the bathroom for the dorm or outside for a while and I couldn't find any staff to help.
The location is good and the host is absolutely lovely

New ZealandThe beds weren’t overly comfy. The lounge are needs a couch or more communal space that’s comfortable
The place is just opened. It’s going to be a cafe and HOMEstay but currently just a homestay. The host is AMAZING. Actually a stunning lady inside and out. Nothing is an issue. We cooked there and was a great social environment with great location. The wifi is so good!

FranceGreat experience, I planned to stay 3 nights at first and then extended for 4 more nights. Rina is a great woman, very friendly, she made me feel that I was not just a guest. If you have any concerns, she will do whatever she can to arrange it. Great view from the balcony. And you can go on the beach behind the hostel. If you look for it, you will see turtles there. I fully recommend

PhilippinesI feel scam . so disappointing . i book a junior suits for 3days . i was messaging the day before we arrive that i want 2bedrooms , and they reply say yes it is. i been explaining that i want our son to have his separate bedroom . i been even asking the full details of the junior suits the day before we arrive so that at least if they explain to me properly then i should have time to cancel my booking that day. because what they given me is 1 bedroom with 2 separate bed. just had walls in between. and when i said that its not what i book for. the staff arguing me say if our son need separate bedroom we need to additional 1500 per night from the 26,352peso! so i was so mad and tired from the long travel. and so i did argue almost the whole night . and then the staff said i can cancel it. so i did but i was expecting that they could refund me the whole 3nights but it wasn't. i argue again. and then they said that they well give us consideration of putting our son in the other room. since that the booking.com already approve the cancel but still charge me 1 night. then i have no choice i have to accept because we arrive late night. they even give us choices either we go but still charging or stay. of course we choose to stay because there is no other accommodation available near by and we are scared because we are new in that town we don't know anyone and its a middle of the night already. the price of the junior suits is too high. on that price better you book a better and a proper resort . not a hostel type .putting a bathtub on the bedroom that the water system doesn't work at all. its just useless.

United KingdomCurrently renovating so lots of noise. One day they even came in without asking to refit the shower which I thought was very disrespectful. Room didn’t match up with photos on booking.com (private room) WiFi in room didn’t work Very limited breakfast Very noisy (from the road but also the renovating). No door to bathroom - just a shower curtain held up with a bathroom pipe. Overall wouldn’t stay again for the price we paid. Also didn’t realise it was a hostel too.

MexicoThe bathroom can definitely improve, there are just a few and it's both toilet and shower, so if there's someone taking a shower you cannot use the toilet.
The staff is super nice and the owner is adorable. It is true that this might not be the greatest place in the island, but it was clean, the breakfast was included and it was very very good. Location is great and there are many nice people to meet there. I'm sure you are gonna enjoy this place as much as I did.

IsraelDisgraceful conditions, certainly in relation to the price we paid. The place is under renovation, which seems to have been going on for a long time, a feeling that they are working on your head. The shower claims to have hot water, but there was not even a thin stream of cold water and we had to shower with a bucket. There is no WiFi in the rooms, only in the reception area. The place is on the main road and is very noisy even during the night. The breakfast does not make you want to touch anything. The owners did not address the complaint from the first evening, I suggest staying away from this place, there are enough others at a lower cost and with much better conditions.

PhilippinesI think they spoiled us. hahaha We extended our vacation here in Panglao, Bohol, and the service is totally different. - and oh, the internet connection, i think it needs to be extended downstairs so the guests will have access to it even if they are just in their room.
They have an amazing staff and owner. Perfect location! The price is 850/night for the bunk bed with free breakfast. The breakfast is not just a meal but a BUFFET breakfast! The property is also a pet friendly place. They have friendly dogs and cats. They also have roofdeck - perfect for sunset and sunrise viewing.

PhilippinesNo hot water, and the shower are in the same room as the toilets so depending on the hour you will wait to take a shower !
Rina was an absolute angel ! She is a hard worker (her crew as well), she is always there to listen to you, talk to you, give good tips and she does her best to help you :) The breakfast is included, it is home made with love by Rina and the girls, and it is really good ! The location is good, you will need a bike but you will need it anywhere else on this island, they’ll manage to find one for you to rent at the reception :) Then you will be at 5-10mn ride to the towncenter !
