Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomAll rooms are a bit small, even the Honeymoon Suite given its price. Automatic 7% service charge on food and drink. Being charged 150PHP for the hire of a snorkel set when island hopping. Very 'hit and miss' internet. Access is provided with little tickets with codes on, not always working. The most frustrating thing for me was that a large screen TV is provided in every room which is completely useless to anyone who doesn't speak Filipino. Even though they are smart TV's, and there's internet, the TV would only work as a TV with local channels, no Netflix, no YouTube, and I live my life off YouTube (good job I took my laptop)
Absolutely the best welcome ever with the owner (Mayette) and her staff providing an iced lemongrass drink. I was promptly checked into my garden room which was clean, functional, but a little on the small side. There are 8 garden rooms stacked 4 on top of 4, and 2 sea view rooms, one on top of the other (the top one being the prized accommodation due to the balcony and sea view). Mayette's business brain kicked in and she offered me the top one known as the 'honeymoon suite' which is slightly larger and has an amazing view out to the blue waters. This upgrade came in at a cool 2000PHP extra per night, but I bartered it down to 1880PHP (what the hell I'm on holiday). We decided to try the Island Hopping trip which departed from Maykenns own beach. This was facilitated by the staff at a cost of 5250PHP for us two which included a takeaway lunch. The boat was for us two exclusively. We also tried jet skiing which was great fun and managed to find a hire place a couple of hundred yards down the beach to the right. Cost was 2500PHP for half hour, I later learned that the price was way too expensive. The food, in particular the breakfast, was exceptional, and I'm a real fussy eater. Staff were amazing, in particular Jay the manager who took time to answer any questions and attend to our needs. P.S. Maykenn is named after the owners' names, Mayette and Kenneth (a Swedish gentleman who I never had the pleasure to meet)

United StatesNo water pressure and uncomfortable beds . Be careful not to get “any” stain on towels or linens!
Location was quiet and staff was superb! The breakfast was great and especially the homemade bread and fresh lemongrass juice. If you want some peace and quiet this is the place.

BelgiumIt's a bit far from the town. You need a bike or a tricycle to go to the town proper, to access restaurants, bar, etc...
The ambience is good, it's very relaxing, the staff are really accommodating. The area is very well maintened. You can easily rent a bike directly in the hotel.

United StatesThis is a very nice place. Private little beach. The room was modern and clean. The restaurant had very good breakfast and menu items. Short walk to the road for a trike to town. 10 minutes from town and ferry. 20 minutes to the airport. Pay a little more for a peaceful beach view.

United StatesWe had issues with our toilet from the first day. The seat came off and it would not automatically fill up to flush. But the staff fixed the toilet seat right away. And I used the bidet to fill up the tank to flush. Not a big deal. It also smelled heavily of cigarettes one night. I’m not sure if it was from our neighbors but it was very unpleasant.
Staff was very attentive and helpful for everything we needed. Courtyard and restaurant were spotless and clean. Food was good

United StatesBeach is closed at 10 pm. But that is so it can be closed for night time security. Even though I felt very safe in the area and even walking the neighborhood. The restaurant is outdoors so if it was extremely hot out for me it would be uncomfortable. But any restaurant I came across in town is open outdoors also with no air con. It's quite common in the Philippines, that's why i visit in the winter months.
Right on the beach, quiet clean, good food, nice bar and restaurant. Accommodating Staff, Nice place, i would book again. Do your self a favor and rent a scooter and visit paradise beach, secluded and amazingly beautiful.

SpainHonestly, there’s nothing to dislike.
The property is spotless, located right in front of the beach, and offers a peaceful atmosphere. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. The property was spotless, with great attention to cleanliness, making the stay even more comfortable. This is my second time staying here, and I would come back without a doubt. If you want a perfect beach getaway, this is the place. Highly recommended!

Beachfront feels that is conducive to a clean and fresh nature. Food is also great and delicious. The tour packages are worth it. They provided me discounts since I am a solo traveller. The staff are very courteous. This is a resort that would provide you total relaxation.

SingaporeSome distance away from MJ Square (main food area), and we had to take a tricycle there and back since we could not ride motorbikes ourselves. The ride was around 5-10mins.
Very beautiful resort with a modern feel. We signed up for an island hopping tour and were brought to Hilantagaan Island, Lagoon and Virgin Island (3 locations). The room was clean, service and breakfast were excellent. Overall a great experience!

PhilippinesOn arrival we were given a garden view room which I'm sure we did not book, but after a few phone calls to the owner we were given a sea facing room after 3 days. It is never a good experience to have to complain about something on arrival, and, I blame Booking.com for misleading advertising.
Jay and all the staff were exceptional. They went far and beyond what was expected to make our stay great. Thank you once again to them all.

AustraliaMaykenn was an amazing place for us to relax and unwind on Bantayan Island. The staff were absolutely incredible, Jay's knowledge and passion to give the best service was appreciated. May and the incredible ladies were non stop looking after us from the moment we woke, until bedtime. The breakfast was delicious and can highly recommend the pork. Singing and playing music with the team, and hanging out with the local kids on the beach were a highlight. The team could not have been any more helpful, you can book everything right on site. Just a short ride into town or out to other Beaches. Just incredible!!!
