Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomLimited menu with inconsistent pricing of breakfast items. Smiley, willing staff but seemingly not that knowledgable about things to do locally. The beach itself is a shallow somewhat spikey mudflat at low tide (100m to the reef) and the water was very turbid when the tide was in. Beyond the reef it was too rough to snorkel which was the main reason for booking here.. Strangely only one tide cycle each day for the time we were there (with high tide at ~1am...marvellous!), but then the usual 2 highs and 2 lows once we left. On which note was a day earlier than booked as we managed to extend our stay at Club Paradise Palawan on Busuanga which was indeed a paradise.
Beautiful coastal setting. Lovely kingfishers doing their thing along the shore. A rustic beach chalet made to look more glamorous than it was in reality.

AustraliaBreakfast, lunch and dinner was the most expensive we have seen anywhere on the island and there isn’t anywhere else to go, not even a shop nearby to buy food unless you have transport means.
we enjoyed our room very much it was very luxurious with a big comfy bed, staff were friendly and happy to help with things like catching public transport and helping us organise to go see dugongs.

BelgiumThe price of dinner was 700php. Which is way too much. As there are no other places to eat nearby this is very frustrating. Also we were the only guests, which gave the place a bit of a strange vibe. There were 7 dogs running around, which we found a bit annoying.
Lovely hut. Breathtaking view from the bathroom. You can sit in the tub and enjoy the scenery.

IrelandUnfortunately the meals were a bit expensive. The property had warned us in advance that this may be the case (remote island, inflation etc). We were glad we had the heads up or may not have brought enough cash.
Beautiful remote setting. Very comfortable and clean accommodation. Great staff. Great meals & portions. Good communication through email.

United KingdomProperty prices are at a premium however the finishings and furnishings were not! Water pressure in the room was low and sometimes there was NO water. (2 mornings). To empty the spring water tub, the internal plug didnt work (had to use the general tap on the outside of the building). The internet is on a mobile phone network but the incorrect one for the area (SMART does not have great coverage) - Frequent dropouts of internet therefore. I know this as I spent time deciphering the internet connectivity one morning! I came with the idea of doing mountainbiking but all the bikes were rusty (suspension blocked through rust). No available maps as to where any mountainbiking (or walking) could be done in the area. Highly expensive pickup/dropoff rates to the airport (2500 pesos - over 50USD). Expect more if you wish to go to Coron. Tribal Adventures (who also run this property) do offer tours, but this is in Coron, not at this hostel. Dugong Dive Centre (who can do boat pickups from this property) suggested I go to the hotel just down the beach as their scooters were cheaper than here. (they couldnt pick up on the days I was there due to the swell) This hostel is isolated from anywhere else on the island. If you do not have your own means of transport (motorcycle) this may be an issue.
Russ, who was on site, was super helpful but constrained by the overall state of the property which is suffering from a lack of repair. His cooked breakfasts were great as were his specials (note that the property offered expensive set meals but the cooks decided not to come in during the days I was at the property). The (fresh water spring supplied) pool in the room was an unexpected surprise. Pretty much had the whole beach to myself This is on the non-touristy side of the island, pretty remote from anything Links with Dugong Diving Center, though if their boat cannot approach the bay (high swells in December) you have to make your own way to their centre (20 minutes by van or scooter). United KingdomIn the middle of nowhere (which can be a good thing, but just be aware that you can't go and buy food anywhere else) which means it costs like 2000 pesos to get from there to the airport or to anywhere else on the island.
Lovely, huge, comfy bed. Big bathroom. Nice hot shower. Fan and aircon. Food was all right but expensive for what it was, and you can't go anywhere else to eat. Airport transfer - expensive but necessary. Super quiet and peaceful. They offer bicycle hire and kayak hire.

United KingdomThe prices of food. Prepare yourself. There are no other restaurants around and they charge a fixed 500 php per person for breakfast, 600 php for lunch and 700 php for dinner from a very limited menu (3-4 options with lunch being regurgitated dinner options). What you get is a pretty basic plate of food you'd pay less than half the price for elsewhere. By the time you add this up over a 24 hours period, you may as well have paid for a nicer room at a more expensive hotel where they don't trap you with such an overpriced fixed menu. This is what we'd have done if we had our time again.
The rooms are small and basic but nice, bed comfy, and the bath has a nice view.
