Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ArmeniaA cosy guesthouse with a beautiful view of the valley. We enjoyed the kitchen, Balti dishes were tasty. The peaceful view from the windows was very relaxing after the dusty Skardu.

PakistanOur visit was spectacular. We stayed for two nights. The owner made it an unforgettable experience: he so kindly picked us up from the airport, made a wonderful 2 day travel itinerary for us, and shared lovely stories over tea. The rooms were clean, we had a lovely balcony, and absolutely gorgeous views!

United StatesNothing. This was a unique and wonderful stay for us
Great host, who was very helpful from the time we first made contact and all the time during our entire stay. Rashid's airport pick up along with his local information and guidance were invaluable to us. We made all of our activities arrangements through Rashid and no doubt saved money in the process. Loved the property, which is a bit off the beaten path, but for us, this added to its charm and beauty. Amazing views, peaceful and relaxing. The food offered for dinner and breakfast was fresh and healthy. This is an eco-friendly resort, which we respect and appreciate. Rashid and his staff were wonderful, so if you're looking for great hospitality with a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere, I highly recommend staying here.

GermanyRashid bhai(owner) is one of the best hosts i have experienced till date. He went out of his way to make us feel at home and to give a traditional Baltistan experience. Complimentary services got to a point that we felt that we are not paying enough for the value we are getting. Rashid bhai has lived an interesting life, do not miss out on his cool stories.

GermanyMore options/variation in breakfast would be a nice touch
The view is among one of the bests even better than Shangrilla resort. But what tops the view is the people. The owner is a super kind guy and makes you feel at home. It was supposed to be a random hotel stay but we left with a homely feeling. We definitely received more value than we paid for. Any problem we had was resolved on a moments notice, be it hotel related or even anything non hotel related like getting a sim etc.

Cooperative staff, traditional rooms, reasonable Wifi, perfect blend of Italian tiles and local stone with imported bathroom fixtures.. could not have wished for more. Will come back soon.

AustraliaNothing, this is exactly my kind of stay. Wifi worked and the property has procedures in place to manage power shortages which are part of visiting the region. I also didn’t have any interest in the sprawl of the main city
One of the few traditional styled properties available in Skardu with a beautiful view over the Indus river. A property that actually is being “green” or transitioning to green staffed with locals

PakistanThe place had a homely, warm feel. Exceptional hospitality shown by the owner Mr. Rashid and his crew headed by Mr. Zahid. The beds were clean and their staff was at hand to help out whether day or night. Warm water was available as needed for showering. The location is excellent for visiting touristy locations like satpara lake and kachura. The city center is very close as well. Exceptional views of the katpana desert and mountains from the balcony of our room as well.

United StatesI thought but could not find anything but one thing that my stay is too short 😊
The location is great, from the bedroom window you have uninterrupted view of poplar trees and timeless mighty indus. In morning this serene scene fills you with energy and love humbleness while admiring the nature. The breakfast was prepared with care & love and served nicely. The owner Mr. Rashid Sami is a great person. He made sure that our visit to be best. He has lot of local interesting stories and tells with his unique style. Thanks to him and his staff who made our stay like an album of beautiful memories.

PakistanThe location, scenic view, the staff hospitality of Baltistan Fort, Skardu and most important the host Mr Rashid Sami cooperation for made our stay comfortable. Enjoying our breakfast and dinner just right in front of the mountains and the River Indus was an unforgettable experience and yes how can we forget the "star gazing" from the rooftop.

PakistanWhen i visited parts of the property were still under development but it didn't hinder my stay at all.
What a peaceful place. Nestled in the cold Katpana desert, Baltistan Fort Resort was exactly what i needed. It is a labor of love, built using indigenous construction methods with a focus on protecting the environment and heritage. The best part, no generators, the place runs on solar and batteries, and all you hear are the sounds of birds in the morning and perfect dark silence at night when you look at the stars. Rashid sb is a wonderful host and exchanging stories with him over a bowl of buckwheat soup was one of the highlights of my stay

Loved meeting the charismatic owner and talking into the evening about the home he loves. The location is perfect and simply glorious. There was a power cut, very briefly, but no big deal and soon someone was roused to sort it out. A great property with great value for money! Not close to anything, so be prepared to just sink into the glorious scenery!

BelgiumOur room was too hot to have a decent night sleep and the fan could not compensate due to erratic electricity supply that night.
Enormous support of the owner and the staff to get our transport challenges solved when our flight from Skardu to Islamabad got cancelled. Unique location in a desert with special design of the building. Spacious room with good shower. Fabulous views on the mountains, the desert and the stars.

Egyptthe place is 15 minutes away from the city, so it's far from the crowds and has amazing views both at night and in the morning. I really enjoyed the silence, which was exactly what I was looking for. The owner is very kind and helpful; he offered us pick-up and drop-off from the airport, as well as daily excursions at unbeatable prices compared to others. PakistanI had an amazing experience at Baltistan Fort, owned and crafted by Rashid Sami. The property is a work of art—every detail, from the architecture to the decor, is thoughtfully curated, giving it a unique and special charm. The views are simply breathtaking: Karakoram on the right, Himalayas on the left, and the Indus weaving magic right in front. At night, stargazing here is an unforgettable treat. The location is peaceful, away from the hustle and bustle, yet conveniently close to the airport. Rashid Sami’s hospitality was exceptional—he didn’t even ask for an advance deposit and gave us the flexibility to decide once we arrived. He also offered complimentary airport pickup and drop-off, and his car was available to take us to nearby restaurant multiple times. Despite Skardu’s usual WiFi challenges, Baltistan Fort had a decent connection, and the property runs entirely on solar power, so we had zero power cuts. Hot water is usually available only in the morning, but they made sure to provide it twice daily upon our request. Being next to a glamp site meant we had easy access to their restaurant with variety of food, which could also be delivered right to our room. On our last day, Rashid Sami organized a cozy bonfire and treated us to special local buckwheat soup—complimentary and a perfect farewell. The owner lives on the property, making it super easy to reach out for anything, and we had some lovely conversations with him about his work in art, theatre, and film. His hospitality and the warm atmosphere of Baltistan Fort made this trip truly memorable. Highly recommend this beautiful place for an unforgettable experience!

The facilities, staff and food were excellent. Good value for money. The owner, Mr.Rashid Sami himself, supervises the operations, and he ensures the comfort level of the guests staying in the property. Above all the location is wonderful. It gives you a feeling like staying in an Oasis in the middle of a desert 🏜.
