Booking.com guest review guidelinesTo keep the rating score and review content relevant for your upcoming trip, we archive reviews older than 24 months.
Only a customer who has booked through Booking.com and stayed at the property in question can write a review. This lets us know that our reviews come from real guests, like you. Who better to tell others about the free breakfast, friendly staff, or quiet room than someone who’s stayed at the property before?
We want you to share your story, both the good and the bad. All we ask is that you follow a few simple guidelines.
We believe review contributions and property responses will highlight a wide range of opinion and experiences, which are critical in helping guests make well-informed decisions about where to stay.
Contributions to Booking.com are a reflection of the dedication of our guests and properties, and are treated with the utmost respect.
Whether negative or positive, we'll post every comment in full, as quickly as possible, after being moderated to comply with Booking.com guidelines. We'll also provide transparency over the status of submitted content.

We will use the same guidelines and standards for all user-generated content as well as the property replies to that content.

Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

눉There was no internet. There are three buildings and the reception is at the end of one of them. In our building (at the middle) there was no WiFi network. The bar at the other side of the street can be a bit loud until 2 or 3 a.m.
눇Great location, with a short walking distance to the Alagoa beach and very close to several bars and restaurants at the main street. The kitchen was well equipped and most of the appliances were new.

눇Talking about the place I stayed - everything was perfect! I can't even describe how I liked in there! There are lots of restaurants and cafes near the place I lived, the food there is great! I really liked the tea.

눉Unfortunately neither of the balconies got any sunshine at any time of date. Also there is a problem with pigeons (birds) which made a lot of mess on the balconies so you couldn't even dry things outside. The apartment also faced a rather noisy bar so beware which apartment you get allocated

눉Actually the address and Location in the website is wrong. The main address for the Building was in other area and I had to go in the address which is in the website to get the key. Even the address for key also wasn't enough to find and that takes me 1 hour to find the reception area. The apartment was excellent and that was really comfortable, the price 25 Euros per night also was perfect.

눉Having to leave the algarve.
눇Everything about Alturamar was excellent, accommodation, proximity to beech and bars and restaurants. Emma was a great help , her friendly nature was amazing. Alturamar was great value for money as shopping for food and eating out was very reasonable. We'll definitely be revisiting Altura and Alturamar apartments in the future. Thank you.

눉The sheets and pillow smelled like sweat. It was really disgusting. The stove was broken and did not work. The shower head was falling off the wall. And there were a number of things that were rusting and falling apart. The bed was two singles pushed together. The mattress was very uncomfortable. There is a bar across the street and it was incredibly loud until very late at night, even with the window closed. Not a good location for a family with young children. The description listed WiFi, but it is only available in the common area which is the office found on the street front. It closed after 6pm, so to access WiFi we had to sit outside on the curb.
눇The location was very close to Praia Alagoa.

눉More utensils needed such as water glasses, pegs, smaller pans. The iron gave me an electric shock (but was replaced without question). The tv had only one channel. There was no WiFi

눉The noisy bars opposite. Locals rock up with a land rover and treat everyone to their music while they have a few drinks with the music blaring. Not enough hot water for four morning showers.
눇Location very close to the beach. Big apartment with good outside space. Well equipped and comfortable. Good cleaning service. Friendly small town with amazing beach three minutes walk away.
