Excellent apartment, perfect for two. Its location is ideal, in the city center and walking distance from major attractions of Funchal. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious. There were basic utensils in the kitchen, and there was also a laundry machine and a drying rack. The staff was also super friendly.

Check in was terrible. We contacted the property from the airport to advise we were hopping into a taxi and on our way. Told to call back on arrival at the property. We did so and then calls went to a voicemail in Portuguese. We stood waiting with our luggage outside the front door for 30 minutes and calling with no response from agent wondering if we were even going to get inside. Somebody eventually turned up to let us in and take the bond. No explanation or apology. Also, there was a lack of kitchen accessories, not even a tea towel to dry a dish. Not good enough for a 5 night stay. The leopard print bed cover was filthy. Bathroom has mould on ceiling. I would not stay again.

Small thing missing a fan.

Most appreciated that André came to us and helped us with the smooth check-in and finding the private garage. We were very glad he arranged a reserved parking place at the Madeira Plaza. Saved us time looking for a free parking spot. Couldn’t be a better host. Thanks again André. The apartment incl a big balcony is located in an alley a few steps away from the Do Se Cathedral, coffee bars, restaurants, shops, and center of Madeira. Furthermore nearby touristic hotspots, promenade, and shopping mall incl a super mercado. Only a small thing missing was a fan. During the nights we slept with the inner doors open. Cools down the apartment. And some noise from the garbage truck in the very early morning. But I am a light sleeper. Some earplugs would helped. Surely would recommend this location. Maybe until a next time.

Spacious apartment in the city center in a quiet street. Good kitchen facilities and washing machine, 2 bathrooms is also a plus. Good and clear contact with the administrator.

Could definitely do with more mugs and wine glasses. Only one decent sized mug for tea/coffee. The shower door in apartment D doesn’t close properly and you end up with a puddle on the floor. There is a piece of paper rammed in at the top of the door to stop it sliding off. A shelf in the shower would be useful to put shampoo/shower gel on. Some mould on the bathroom ceiling too.

Central location. Very good sized studio apartment with separate kitchen/dining area. Very clean.

Great location, quiet at night. Met by friendly staff for check in. Bed was very firm which we found uncomfortable at the start but got used to it. Enjoyed the welcome Madeira wine and chocolate- thank you.

Though it's clean and in good condition, the decoration is very drab: gray photos on gray walls, gray curtains, gray bed cover, gray bedside lamps. A little bit of color and some simple, tasteful interior design would make this place cheerful and inviting. Also, they should replace the bathroom extractor fan, which is as loud as a motorcycle.

Great location in Funchal old town. The apartment is spacious and clean, in excellent condition, with a fully functional kitchen. The staff is friendly and helpful when you need them. Though the restaurant outside can be noisy, they open late and close early. And since the apartment faces pedestrian-only lanes on both sides, there's no traffic noise, so it's quiet and peaceful at night.

I would have liked to have a couple of bowls to have my yoghurt for breakfast and sharper knife. The hairdryer was not fixed to the wall properly. A hook for the hand towel in the bathroom would be useful. But just minor things.

Perfect location, close to everything and quiet in the evening. The apartment was clean. Nice touch offering chocolates, bananas and wine as a welcome gift. The staff were easy to contact and very responsive. The hand blender was very handy to make smoothies. Good choice of pillows. Plenty of storage space. Security door made me feel safe. Would definitely recommend 👌

Pillows quite hard memory foam so would be nice to also have a choice of softer pillows. The hairdryer would overheat and lose power after 5 minutes use.

The property is in an excellent central location with cafes and restaurants nearby and lots to explore. Only 20min drive from the airport. The kitchen is very well equipped and has everything you would need. We were kindly left some chocs and wine. Great tv and able to relax and watch Prime tv after a day out day exploring.

Literally everything is in walking distance. We couldn't have hoped for a better location in Funchal! We were a group of friends, who booked several apartments. Our studio apartment had everything we needed and was super clean. The 2-BR apartment of our friends was huge and also very tastefully furnished. The Madeira wine and delicious chocolates which welcomed us were an extremely lovely touch! The communication with the staff was friendly, helpful and uncomplicated. We can definitely recommend this place!

The bathroom could do with updating. The high table was difficult to eat at. There was a lack of access to an outside space.

It was decorated nicely. The bed was very comfortable. The position was right in the middle of town but down a nice quiet street. The staff were perfectly lovely and very helpful.

We're quite used to hard mattresses, but these mattresses were really hard and difficult to sleep on.

Apartment was located in a perfect location in the city center. Very clean space, apartment got everything you need! There is a parking spot available for 10 euros per day in a private parking garage. Would recommend this apartment to friends and family. It's located in a street that's not too busy, so we didn't experience any noise during the night.

There weren’t any basic domestic things like bin liners. You had to buy everything. The sun loungers were broken. We had to sort out how to turn on the hot water as there was no information.

Perfect location near the Cathederal. We were met by Ana, who was very helpful and introduced us to all the facilities. We sat in the sun on the balcony when we arrived and drank the small bottle of Madeira Wine that was kindly left for us. We would certainly stay again when we need a place in Funchal. The apartment was very clean and the kitchen well equiped, although we didnt use this as we were only there for one night.

- Check in was a nightmare, we arrived around 9pm (after a very long day of travelling) and were stuck outside on the street for over an hour as nobody could let us in and the host was busy at a sports game. Why they don’t just opt for a combination box with keys is beyond me. - Wouldn’t recommend if you have a car, parking is a nightmare (but if you do, I’d suggest going to amarante reis car park - it’s a 24/7 multi story about 5 minutes away) - No air conditioning so would get quite sticky in the summer months. Good fan provided however.

- Location is exceptional - Apartment is good for the price, so a good pick if you’re on a budget - Host seemed nice and aiming to please

The instructions said to call when we arrived at the airport, so once we were out of the customs area, I called the number - they asked 'Are you at the door?' and when I said 'No, I'm at the airport and calling, as you said' they went 'So call us when you're at the door' and hung up. I *love it* when I'm given incorrect instructions in advance... The cleaning service was supposed to come in the middle of our 8-night stay. When they didn't turn up, I called up their number and asked when they would come. I was told they would come the next day. Nobody turned up for the rest of the stay. We had no fresh towels, no toilet paper, no cleaning. When asked at the end of the stay, the lady said no cleaning staff came because 'they were busy'. The restaurant under our windows was thankfully quite quiet in the evenings, but every morning before 6am there were either garbage trucks or trucks unloading produce and being quite noisy, people shouting...

Good central location in Funchal. Restaurants, shops and public transport within easy reach. Complimentary small bottle of madeira and bananas when we checked in. The apartment was quite spacious.

If you like silence, it will not be a place for you. But we were aware it would be noisy since we are in the downtown. There is a washing machine in the apartment. It's a shame that there was no washing powder or liquid on sight. And the most problem was to hang our washed clothes as there is no drying rack or anything like this. We also missed some hooks to hang the clothes and towels in the bathroom. It was quite inconvenient. But these are all small things.

Central, comfortable beds, equipped kitchen with espresso machine. We were grateful for coffee and tea amenities. It was a nice gesture to find a bottle of Madeira wine, some fruit and chocolate bonbons. The communication via booking was very smooth. On our request we got a transfer to the apartment. The driver was very friendly and welcoming. We loved Funchal very much. We were happy we chose to stay in the apartment for the whole week. The island is not very big, so with a rented car you can explore it during the day and in the evening come back to your cozy apartment and go out to one of many restaurants situated just on the same street.
