Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Arab EmiratesCouple of quirks such as having to pay 5 Euros for a beach/pool towel rental. Also when they say ‘heated pool’ it wasn’t the pool itself that was heated but the structure (which resembles a greenhouse) that is heated so the feel was of a sauna which also houses a rather cold swimming pool. One big disappointment was the buffet dining restaurant (Oliveria I think was the name). We went for the Asian night but were utterly disappointed. Food quality was more akin to cheap Asian takeout. Worst part however was the cutlery. The glasses in particular had a horrible smell to them.
Very good location, close proximity to the beach and the center of the city. Plenty of dining options at the hotel and in the vicinity. We stayed at the Apartments but you are permitted access to other properties such as Alfagar Village as well. Special shoutout to the Buganvilia restaurant which we visited multiple times as both the food and service there was exceptional. Plenty of options for entertaining the kids too. Magic shows, open mic nights, a football field, dedicated kids pool with slides, outdoor play areas etc

United KingdomNothing, our stay was perfect and we are rebooking for the same time next year!
What an amazing weekend trip away! Alfagar surpassed all our expectations for the price paid for 3 nights away (March 2024). When we arrived we were taken to the newer 'Prestige' apartments via the hotel's golf cart which our toddler enjoyed. The apartment itself was huge for 3 of us, and exceptionally clean with everything we needed for a self-catered stay. We visited the Buganvilia restaurant and ended up eating there for two nights, the menu had everything we needed and the house wine, beer and cocktails were excellent. The parks were a hit for our 2 year old, and the pools were great. The only downside was the kids play pools were shut at this time of year, but the water was very cold so probably wouldn't have had much use anyway. The highlight of our trip was the beach (down quite a few steps) which was incredible, and we had it to ourselves. Taxis to the Old Town were about $6-$10 using Uber, and we didn't have to wait longer than 5 minutes for them to arrive.

One of the best places I’ve been to in Portugal. Very beautiful views, well maintained territory and very pleasant walk to the beach. Very clean rooms. Perfect to stay with kids. It has a playground and plenty of pools. We stayed in Prestige apartments which had a huge balcony and nice view as well.

PolandApartment had two TVs with many channels to choose from which is huge advantage, although none of them had SmartTV with Netflix. This option should be accessible for guests that came for longer period of time or at least have this information (Lack of SmartTV) on the website so the customer can be prepared for it.
The location of the hotel is exceptional. Not only close to the beach, but the city itself is not far away. I highly recommend choosing an option with breakfast, the menu is versatile and also offers some alternatives for vegetarian guests. The live music at the restaurant makes this place magical and full of activities that made our stay so pleasurable and memorable! Not to mention that the staff is very helpful, quick and up to the highest standards. Everything in apartment had its place and was designed the way that it felt very comfortable, I would say that the atmosphere was carefree and intimate.

DenmarkService could be better. Kids club was not running unfortunately due to the season. But we stayed the week before in another hotel and kids club was running normally.
The room we stayed at Prestige was excellent! Plenty of space, very comfortable and kitchen very well equipped. We didn’t use the outdoor pools (due to winter) but they look nice. Indoor pool was great, kids enjoyed it. Breakfast was ok.

PortugalWould have liked to be on a higher floor for better views of the Lovely gardens and pool, we were on floor 2. Base of bathroom door showing water damage, coffee table tired. All above very minor and did not spoil our stay
Size of the apartment, kitchen facilities. We chose one of the older rooms as it has a bath (can't soak in a radox shower) and it was way better than our expectations. November was not balcony weather but it was very latge, sun loungers and dining table provided with lots of spare room to move around. Outside areas looked great. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was as expected in a buffet style, we enjoyed it.
