The only thing we wished for was a front-facing balcony view for the Saturday night marina fireworks – though you can still catch a glimpse from the side. 😀

We had an overwhelming and truly memorable experience staying at Blue Sky in Funchal. The property is private, spacious, and very well maintained, with all the kitchen equipment you could need – even some basic ingredients and toiletries provided, which was a nice touch. Looks exactly like in the booking.com pictures as we know some property pictures are misleading. The location is excellent – just a 10–15 minute walk to Funchal’s main attractions like the city centre, marina, cable car, and Santa Maria Street’s lively restaurants (with disclaimer of returning is uphill, not for lazy legs). Despite being so central, the property still feels secluded and peaceful. A special mention to our host, “Marcos” – incredibly kind, polite, and helpful. When we couldn’t find a tour online, he personally helped us book a private car tour of West Madeira with 25 years of experienced legend, friendly, and wealth of general knowledge guide “Terry” and it ended up being one of the best experiences of our trip. Highly recommended for families, couples, or solo travellers. Would absolutely stay again!

Very comfortable , well equipped apartment, close to all amenities. The.liaison before and during our trip was excellent. The option of being picked up from and returned to the airport at a small additional cost was very useful. The balcony and side seaviews were a bonus. The bed was very comfortable.

The apartment is really very well maintained in general, but has few tiny inconveniences (i.e. if you turn the water in the kitchen while someone is in the shower, the shower water runs cold, etc.), which did not really spoil the good overall impression for us.

The location is great, close to the city center, but away from the busy streets, shops/restaurants are all nearby. The apartment is very nice (even better than we expected from the pictures) and comfortable, clean, has good shower, enough space to relax (a terrace on a sunny side, a sofa, a comfortable bed and a dining table), the kitchen is fully equipped. AC works both for cooling and for warming up. We had a cleaning arranged on the day 4 of our stay here, which we appreciated a lot. We also read in other reviews about the noise from the street, which didn't really bother us much, the apartment turned out much quieter than we were prepared for. Marcos is a great host, helpful and available, the communication was him was very smooth, even during the busy holiday days.

The elevator was broken during our stay but this was a minor inconvenience for us.

We loved our stay! The apartment has a very homey feeling. You have everything you need, a beautiful balcony and it’s very close to the city center. The parking spot is definitely a plus (but I need to say it required some maneuvering to reach the garage area). Highly recommend, thanks Marcos!

The apartment is incredibly cosy, with a lot of natural light, location is amazing (just a few minutes from all the restaurants, bars, markets...). The kitchen is fully equipped, and the balcony is great - sunny since morning till the sunset almost. It is a really spacious apartment that comes with a garage parking space. Marcos is probably the friendliest host you'll find! From the first message, once we booked, to our arrival, stay and departure. He was always at disposal, and we really appreciated it. I would definitely recommend this apartment when staying in beautiful Funchal!

Perfect apartment to explore Funchal - really well equipped and had everything we needed. Really nice to have a little terrace. We arranged for Marcos to collect us from the airport which was really handy - & great to hear more about the island from our host.

Has everything you need. There’s nothing more I could ever ask for in an apartment. The basement Parking is super convenient. It’s a tiny bit steep and narrow to the gate but nothing unmanageable at all. It is Madeira after all!

The only thing we struggled with was the noise of the traffic each morning which woke us early.

We loved the apartment with a well equipped kitchen and lovely terrace we enjoyed most mornings for breakfast. It was nice to be met by Marco and shown around, he was very helpful in suggesting places to eat and when the cruise ships were in so aware that the cable car would be busy. The location close to the old town was ideal and easy to walk to bars, shops and restaurants.

The property was on a busy street so you can hear the road noise. It gets quieter later in the evening. If you are a light sleeper, it may bother you. We got used to it after a couple of nights. There are some hills to deal with when coming back to the property but that’s part of the for the course in Funchal.

Liked having a full balcony with a view of the surrounding hills and partial ocean view. Property was very clean and well equipped. It’s well located to Centro Funchal. Restaurants are 10 to 15 minute walk away.

The portable AC is very loud (as they all are), but what surprised us the most was the constant need to drain the condensed water, as it is very humid in Funchal. Having to do it every two hours gets tiring.

Well equipped kitchen, a balcony with a nice view, great location, tourist guides, smart TV and a very helpful host make for a truly great place to stay when you are in Funchal.

The apartment comes with a portable AC unit so it was quite warm during the very hot days. But the host kindly went out of his way to provide us with an extra fan.

Great location, super walkable to Funchal. Also has a car parking space if you decide to rent a car. A spotlessly clean and well stocked apartment with a beautiful, relaxing balcony. Communication with the host was excellent.
