Comfortable stay in a lovely house in a beautiful part of Portugal

    I can't think of anything!

Casa de Santa Ana da Beira is a historic house, typically Portuguese, that has been very sympathetically restored, turning ground floor rooms that used to store wine, potatoes and other produce into charming and spacious bedrooms, each with its own en-suite bathroom. A good breakfast is in an airy, modern room overlooking the swimming pool. Hosts Paula and Joaquim are gracious and welcoming, and speak good English. We had a lovely night there.

The shower was tiny even for an average-sized person. The rooms smelled a little musty but perhaps to be expected given the building is 300 years old and there is no fan in the bathroom.

The historical building and room were quaint! The grounds were beautiful and staff was attentive. Nice, quiet place to stay in the dão region.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful. They gave us all the information we needed and where and what to visit. We enjoyed every moment spent there. The location is perfect and we hope to come back on summer.
