The only part of the chalet that could be improved are the bathrooms. They're both located on the ground floor and very small.

Great location, just 10 Km away from the top and Ski resort. Very cosy and comfortable chalet, perfect for a leisure trip with family or friends. The equipment is very good, making the stay pleasant and allowing you to cook your meals, if you want to.

Worst beds I slept in a hotel. It is really a big downside as we spent 3 nights over and had almost no rest due to the very poor conditions of the beds.

Excellent Breakfast with traditional flavours. Staff was always extremely friendly.

The cable tv was very poor, only one channel offered, which was a limitation for the children. This was the only negative aspect of all the weekend. Due to the distance of our chalet from the main building, sometimes the wireless was falling.

The place where the chalet are is amazing in the middle of the mountain, very close to the the Tower (the highest point). The only down size was the cable service which didn't had much to offer, which for kids is a limitation.

A bit dated. Broken fridge handle. Shower spray was slightly broken. Staircase was unclean with stains. My double bed was very uncomfortable with a huge dip which I sunk in, springs have gone. Manager offered to put extra bedding to cushion it.

The views from the chalet were stunning. Was overcharged, but was quickly rectified and refunded by staff and complimentary breakfast was offered for our family of 5. Used up our towels and was given replacements. There was a bush fire nearby and we telephoned as concerned guests and we were offered to be relocated to another part of the hotel. Staff are attentive and helpful.

The chalet was basic, and fine for an overnight stay. Overall appearance was a little tired, and we struggled to get the air conditioning to operate. We ate the buffet dinner and breakfast in the hotel. Many dishes on the dinner menu did not appeal to us, Chicken hearts stew, gizzards, pigs ear salad, however the salads and desserts were good. Coffee offering at breakfast was dreadful.

We stayed in a wooden chalet in June. Wonderful scenery and very peaceful area. Would be good for walking if you had time.

There isn't much to do in Penhas da Saude and Covilha in the summer. I would recommend staying near Seia as it looked like a nicer town. The chalet was nice, but very basic. There weren't many appliances in the kitchen (e.g. no kettle). Beds were uncomfortable.

Clean and spacious chalet. Nice views.

Dirty and poor quality chalet. No air con - might not be a problem in the winter but when its 38C outside it is an issue.

View. View. View. Not much else.

Beds far too smallf for tall adults or tall children. Sloping rooves also a little dangerous for tall people.

Spacious, comfortable and homey chalet, in a location with glorious views

Downside - The beds are two singles pushed together with individual bedding and wheels under ... that kept moving and opening a hole in the middle of the bed throughout the night . very annoying, - This could have easily been fixed by management wth some sort of attachment to stop them from moving ....

The chalet was extremely clean, very nice hot water, lovely pallet filled salamander electronic heating (with controls) -keeping the chalet nice and warm. 2 balconies, nice views of the mountain, next to hotel with amazing medieval buffet lunch. 20euros pp- hotel also offers spa, massages hottub for a lil extra., 8km from closest city "Covilha" (15 euros by taxi) 10km away from skiing resort. Didn't get to ski as weather was too foggy... Exploring the closest city covilha was very nice and the sorrounding mountains. 1900m altitude gets you the best fresh air. Bring a coat gets a lil chilly but you won't feel it inside the chalet. Would recommend for those wantingn a nice peacefull break with the comfort of a home. Bungalows also available.

The front door lock of the first house we stayed was in really bad shape and it was not nice to be forced to stay outside for a while at our arrival in the night with negative temperatures. In the second house, the top floor balcony door was also in bad shape and we could not use the balcony during the entire stay. Other than these door issues, these wood houses - that are quite nice and confortable - would improve with new modern sofas and curtains.

Cosy. Warm. Beautiful views of the mountains. Easy access to many of the Serra da Estrela must-see places.
