    Nothing

The place is far better than we were led to believe from the photos and comments. Beautiful historical accommodation - exceptional ! Staff were very helpful and kind. Dining area is stunning. Rooms were charming and comfortable.

All was fine, but I would request that some people from staff could speak better English. Also, beds might have not creaked

This is a former monastery in a rural area, far away from tourists crowds. Dinner and breakfast were perfect. I would definitely recommend this venue for those who prefer calm, quiet rest

Mattress is average. You can sleep but not top comfort. Swimming pool is a bit neglected.

food is great and overall historical preserved architecture of the building. Staff is very friendly and helpful despite some crowded moments during August buffet meals. Rooms and hotel in general are well maintained in terms of temperature. Been there in summer and winter and can confirm that it's well equipped in terms of heat and AC. The outside buffet area is splendid and with the canvas on top, keeps it fresh.

This hotel is not a 4 star. Far from it. Breakfast is very poor. All shop bought. No eggs available for example and its served from 8 am to 10 even on weekends. If you go at 9:50 you find yourself being rushed by the staff who wants to get the tables ready for lunch. Hotel doors close at midnight.... you can't even stay in the bar area because the lights are turned out.... Swimming pool area was very poor and not clean.

    Dinner buffet is not bad

    Hard to fault, really.

Wonderful location near Vilar Dam, in quiet, beautiful surroundings. Friendly staff, great food, nice outdoor pool in the premises. The Convent conversion into a Hotel was expertly done.

Our only complaint might be the music selections that played in the dining room. They didn't really suit the atmosphere of the property.

An out of the way location, but the property is an excellent one, with lots of character and beautiful rooms. The dinner and breakfast were first class. The gardens were beautiful too.

There was an outstanding tower room that could only be found by hunting and opening doors. The swimming pool filters were turned off so the pool was full of dead bugs, a shame as it was warm enough to use it. The bar was not attended and staff scarce making it a performance to get a drink or coffee

The room was lovely and the buffet style dinner very good if somewhat chaotic

Not much to do in the vicinity; this is located in a small village; there's a dam nearby with a large reservoir, it's a very nice place to relax, kids will probably love to go for a swim int he summer but there's not a lot more to do in the immediate vicinity; the hotel does have a pool but it is relatively small

The room was very nice, large and well decorated in a traditional style; the bathroom was large and again well decorated; both the room and the building were well kept and in good order; the staff were friendly, polite and professional; breakfast was great, and on weekends they have a buffet dinner (probably lunch as well) for 12,5 Eur per person plus drinks; excellent value for money and definitely recommended

The variable degree of helpfulness of front desk staff : some are extremely nice, other less : friends of mine had their rooms mixed up and the staff member they spoke to wasn't that helpful then, so that later on a bed had to be moved from a room to another in the middle of the night...

Charming place, with clean and cosy rooms, swimming pool and restaurant in the middle of a village in the Portuguese country side : lovely !

No info on the history of the convent to give context to the amazing building.

    Nothing at all.

The facilities are beautifully-executed and immaculate. This is a quiet hotel where you can really relax at your own pace.
