It was probably just one of those days, but a number of events soured the stay. During check-in a tourist bus arrived. With only one receptionist on duty plus all the special requests, check-in was a long affair. Then the safe in the bedroom did not work. Even with the best efforts of the single receptionist and a technician did not help and our valuables were at risk the whole stay. Then the bar refused to allow me to sign for drinks and when I reported to the reception the young lady was very rude saying that my credit card was not on record. This, despite having paid for the whole stay in advance by credit card. Then we discovered that we could not eat A la Carte in this 4 star-rated hotel - only Buffet. Then we found that the toilet tank took over 10 minutes to fill and the shower selector knob needed the strength of a young man with dry hands to budge it. The hotel runs understaffed and the bar has long spells without attendence. There is mostly only one receptionist on duty. Maybe we just got unlucky but this was not a good experience.

Location. Staff generally helpful and friendly. Clean.

The building it's a really interesting architecture object with some of the great original furniture.

It felt more like a 3 Star than a 4 Star Hotel. The lobby is new and fresh looking but the rooms are a little tired looking with their terra-cotta tiles and multi colored curtains. The bed linen felt a little like a hospital and ours were frayed on the edges. The reception staff could be a little friendlier. They could put recliners around the indoor pool for people to sit. The indoor pool was a little cold compared to the previous hotel we were at.

The dinner in the Hotel Restaurant was exceptional and the Staff were very very good! The location is absolutely perfect and you can get right to the beach with an elevator ride. They organized a beautiful cake for us (requested in advance) and on short notice they arranged flowers for a birthday as well. We were very early but they allowed us to store our bags in two of our four rooms which were ready early.

The room is a little bit tired.

The place is a hotel built in 70s. An amazing building at the coast with the pools, a bar overlooking the bay and a restaurant. The design of the hotel is great.

The room allocated to us at check-in was not ready when we got to the room and had to call reception to get another one. A few minutes later we were told we would have to move to another room and when we got there it had two single beds instead of a double bed. Asked to have a double bed and we were told it would be ready in a few minutes. Went for lunch and 90 minutes later when we return to the room it was exactly as before. Called reception who told us that we had to wait. Another wait of approximately 30 minutes sitting at reception. Cleanliness of the room was not that great and for a 4-star hotel I would expect a lot more. The hotel is quite noisy during the day and night. Staff talking (loud) in the corridor during the day disturbs guests that are trying to get some rest.

Certain sections of the hotel were very dated. The lower rooms were very 1980s (dark, heavy wood décor and dingy lighting). The more expensive rooms are in the more modern section of the hotel, and I guess much better. On my hallway the lights were always off and only triggered by my movement, this may have saved energy just added to the dark and dingy feel of the hotel. Breakfast was a bit chaotic. For this hotel you’re paying for the location……. Location:10 Hotel:6

The hotel has one of the best locations of Sesimbra and was why I booked it. Swimming and outside seating areas were excellent. The rear door opens onto the beach. All rooms have a sea view.

Do not stay in rm #101, the toilet is so close to the bathtub you cannot sit properly on the toilet, you have to sit sideways with your leg over the Bodega. The only other thing is the Hotel is outdated.

The staff was great, on our first night we were supposed to have 2 twin beds when we arrived they said they only had a room with a queen size, so they brought in a cot, I was traveling with a friend of mine. So for the inconvenience of the first night, they upgraded us up to a suite for the next 3 nights with a beach view at no extra charge.

Not good value for money in my opinion, The indoor "heated" swimming pool was too cold to swim in. The breakfast was poor for a supposedly 4 star hotel, the fruit was mostly from tins and didn't taste so fresh and the orange juice was not freshly squeezed and very artificial tasting. Coffee was prettt bad too from a cheap looking dispensing machine. So not really fair to advertise this hotel as a 4 star as I would have expected more from a 4 star.

This is a large hotel for groups of tourist, nothing wrong if that is what you like. From the restaurant at breakfast you can see the man cleaning the floor around the pool and swipe the dirty cleaning water in the pool...luckily there is a beach in front of the hotel.

When you check in ask for the safe pin, you need it for the safe in tour room.....otherwise you have to to back to the reception, long walk and 2 elevators. The hotel is perfect located to the beach.

The hotel was initially very well integrated in the surrounding area (small bay and little fishermen's city) but unfortunately a big building has started to be built just next to it, cutting the view of the beach which is incomprehensible. The service in the hotel is very poor for a 4 star hotel, in particular at the reception and the restaurant. The water of the swimming pool was too cold so that we couldn't profit from it, the sauna was out of order, the quality of the breakfast is more than average, and the hotel needs being refreshed at many places (but the old design should be maintained at all costs as it makes the charm of this hotel). Staff and services should be adapted to contemporary expectations of customers.

The architecture of the hotel, built in the 70's, is fabulous with excellent volumes of the rooms and other spaces of the hotel. The terraces of the rooms in front of the sea are wonderful. The materials used in the hotel like the beautiful red tiles are of excellent quality. The beds are good, the bathrooms are big, and the furniture is still the original one (the chairs in the restaurant are extremely comfortable and of beautiful design in wood and black leather). It is very relaxing to hear the waves of the sea at all times while staying in the room. For these reasons we have enjoyed several stays in this hotel over the past years. The hotel is also big enough to organise stays with other friends and family, in the low season. The hotel doesn't have a spa but on the website it is mentioned that there is a possibility for massages: indeed the hotel arranged for a therapeutic massage in one of the hotel rooms arranged for the purpose, and we appreciated the quality of the massage.

The wifi is spotty and there was loud music coming from an after-hours club beginning at 3:00 am Sat. morning and lasting for over an hour. Pounding bass, so earplugs not helpful.

We had to laugh at the review that called this place outdated--what we wouldn't give to take home some of that gorgeous mid-century modern furniture and art! The ocean views are stunning and the breakfast is excellent. Not sure we'd like it during the season as it's a huge place and must really get crowded. However, we had it all to ourselves in December and we loved it.

Reception was polite but we experienced some challenges when we decided to extend our stay. They seemed unclear, and we felt we had to triple check things, before our room could be confirmed.

The hotel is well situated on the side of a large hillside. The Hotel has great watefront views and also offers parking. The beach is right across a quiet street and easily accessible. The Hotel also offers a swimming pool which was surprisingly a wonderful spot to relax. The Lounge was another great place to relax and spend time taking in the views and enjoying a delicious cocktail or two. The Village was nice and had everything you need as well as Restaurants to visit, and all within easy walking distance. But the Hotel dining room also offers terrific meals and even better service. Carlos will ensure you have everything you need for a wonderful and enjoyable time. The lounge staff were amazing and kind, and made the most wonderful drinks. The cleaning staff also made sure the room was always clean, and refreshed, and were very discreet and quiet. We planned to stay a night and stayed for 4, would have stayed longer if time had allowed.

Beds were too hard, Need memory foam toppers. Shower curtain too long, shower head too high up to reach for average height person, hotel is quite dated and needs refurbishing badly. Hairdryer wire was too short and should be located at dressing table.

The breakfast buffet was fine, but they need to address the evening buffet, often the food in the serving dishes was not kept warm enough. Seek out the microwave at the rear of the dining room! Also its a little petty to want to charge money to use the mini safe in the room, it's a 4 star hotel, it should be free.

Well located hotel in a small resort overlooking a superb beach. The reception is on the 9th floor all the rooms are below, which is a little disorientating, but the design ensures that every room has a sea view with a balcony.Good air conditioning. Breakfast was terrible, from variety to staff during it. Reduced parking facilities

Amazing location, and stunning rooms next to swimming pool.

Room a little tired/showing its age . Receptionist ( male) was abrupt - it would appear that guest booking in were a bit of a hindrance . Gave him the benefit of the doubt but he was just as surly the next day . Odd system of changing lifts three times to get to the road .

Nice room with balcony overlooking the sea/beach . Beds were good . Everything clean .

Decor is outdated, and it's definitely showing it's age.

Great location, right next to the beach, although a little tricky to find by car without a GPS. The bar patio overlooks the ocean and is very nice.

Only complaint was that the sauna cabins in the men's changing room by the indoor pool was not working, no light on and no heat. seems to be the case on our last 2 visits

Just friendly helpful staff, clean rooms and well kept gardens/pool. Always enjoyed our stay at this hotel.

Breakfast timetable. When they say it closes at 10 it means it. You better go earlier or you will find bad mood waiters and crumbs of the meals.

Facilities like the indoor pool is a good idea for bad weather days. Location is awesome

The wifi in the room didn't work, had to go on the patio. The light switch on the headboard was turned on accidentally during the night a couple of times. Not a good place for a switch so close to the pillows. The room and area looked very tired. Needs freshening up to match the newer building on the left side. The staff in the restaurant were very miserable - so smiles, interaction at all. Very disappointing.

Position of hotel is excellent . Jessica at the pool area was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and she was very friendly. Lovely girl. The other girl was also very friendly and helpful. Victa the porter was excellent. He took us to our room, explained everything, set the air con, and when leaving, he was very informative about departure etc. The reception staff were also very pleasant and helpful. The pool are was excellent, plenty of shade and very clean.

While I appreciate the feeling of 70's in accommodations, I prefer the breakfast to be in the 21 century. Maybe some local cheeses and local fruit will be good addition.

A good example of 1970's hotel with a period feel to it. Location is excellent and staff is attentive and helpful.
