Breakfast was good, but if you were not one of the first to arrive, most of the hot food was gone. When asked for a top up we were told "once it is gone, it is gone" although they were willing to cook and egg!!! Some of the restaurant and bar staff were very miserable, it seemed as if everything was too much trouble for them and they didn't want to be there.

The rooms were a bit small, but the bed was very comfortable. We had one meal in the restaurant which was OK but a bit pricey.

This hotel well deserves the 4*. The view is very beautiful. I could see the ocean from the balcony and the mountains behind and around us. The room was very nice and clean. The restaurant serves very good dinner and breakfast. There is dairy-free and lactose-free offereing at breakfast.

Room cleaning was hit and miss. Very poor lighting in room. Amputation wardrobe doors. The bed was pretty poor. Only one English language tv channel...... given the propensity to rain on the north coast, and the clientele, the hotel needs a better offering.

Excellent facilities for the price, but very obviously bargain basement room fittings. Given the price, however, one can't complain. Reasonable drinks and food prices. Staff willing to learn.

    - We are a couple. Two single beds pushed together as a double bed with two mattresses is no good. Always a gap between the mattresses and it gets cold at nights. This was not at all good. We tried one night to stay on one of the two single mattresses but gave up. - Staff in front desk could be more customer oriented (instead of excusing for things not working they could say "thank you for the input,we will look into it").

    - Room view was spectacular. - All customers seemed to have same objective: silence. We enjoyed the silence and nature a lot, and there was a great respect between guests and staff to keep noise a a minimum. Super place to "recharge batteries" Staff in bar and in restaurant super cool!

This is really a good 2 star hotel and not a four stars. The staff was not particularly warm nor helpful. The cleanliness was not up to standard (stains, sheets not freshly changed). Very disappointing, would recommend anyone to carry on to Seixal or Porto Moniz.

Good location and nice swimming pool.

    I would not change anything.

Perfect location and facilities to rest and enjoy nature. There are several areas you may choose from to relax or enjoy some amusement games as well as jacuzzi, sauna, turkish bath and fitness facilities. Plus the extra smooth linen sheets and the comfy bed for a peaceful sleep.

The room deco needs to be update after decades.. .including pictures on the wall..This could potentially give better impression to attract new customers. Also I was very disappointed with the old bed cover..

If you wish to eat outside of hotel restaurant, you need a car (or taxi). Some refreshment needed regarding hotel equipment (a bit noisy bed and electric cirquit switch, which we turned out for the nights).

Nice quiet place away from the road and city noise. Especially liked the view, the natural stone interior in bathroom and wooden floors in the whole hotel. Interior is of a good quality, friendly staff, fresh flowers in the lobby. Breakfast is excellent - great choice of fruits. General quality is good and facilities are clean.

There wasn't enough staff to serve the guests in the dining room and at the bar. However the staff they did have were outstanding.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the property was very nice.

Not sure if that is 4* hotel. I would say it is 3* hotel. If that were 3* hotel, I would rate it a little bit higher. But the expectation from 4* hotel was not met. There was no minibar, safety deposit box for free, bathrobe in the room. Also the furniture on the balcony would require some repairmen (at least paint a little). The breakfast was not bad but again I would expect a little bit more from 4* hotel. We were staining there nine years ago (2007) and I have to say that I can see that the quality degraded since that. In 2007 I would rate that hotel with mark 9-9.5. Today it is only between 7-7.5. Probably that reduction in the quality is result of cost reduction.

The location of the hotel is very good. The view is excellent (depends on room you are staying) to hills and also you can see sea from balcony. It is very quiet place.

the dining room was a strange shape with a lot of the tables close together. The sauna turkish bath worked well enough but really needed to be redecorated to look cleaner

the room position and view were excellent, the breakfast was very good, with plenty of choice

The swimming pool was out of order.. for long time ( no message on web site). The children were disappointed, really! I found a peace of Bred Mouldy for the toaster the morning. The food is to much complicate ( menu), but not expensive. No tea pot for the breakfast with a tea really cheap..the toaster is really slow and just for 2 peaces of bred..we were 15! The doors of the rooms aren't soundproofed at 8.30 or 9 O clock you can hear all the doors flapping strongly... because the doors have a spring to close it..

The place is nice really. very good screw.

Location and views are superb, the staff is very friendly and helpful. And we had the best breakfast in Madeira in this hotel, plenty of exotic fruit!
