Old style luxury hotel with beautiful grounds and exceptional staff. Not stuffy and very friendly to us and our children. The pool is large and well maintained as are the botanical gardens which house Colombo the amazing tortoise!! We only stayed for one night but it was truly memorable.

Garden and all territory is nice with spectacular views. Breakfast was amazing. Rooms are cozy and nice with very comfortable not soft matrass. Stuff was very helpful and friendly. Stayed there 2nd time. Going to come back for more.

Not much not to like probably would help if they ran a later shuttle bus back from the centre but not too expensive in a taxi ( we walked down but a bit too far up the steep hills!)

Very pleasantly surprised how nice this hotel is - good old fashioned quality service by all the staff also helped make this a memorable stay. The gardens are excellent better than the famous gardens at the top of the cable car

Perfect service from arrival onwards. Superb athmosphere around the building and the grounds. A very qualitative and rich choice of breakfast, lunch at the pool or à la carte dining. Old school charm of the old building.

We stayed in this beautiful hotel 20 years ago. Whilst Madeira has changed quite a lot, Quinta Jardins do Lago has not. The gardens now have Botanical Garden status because of the hard work the Owners have put in. This Hotel is THE place to stay on the island because it is a long way away from the Hotel District and it is Madeira as it was before the tourist boom. The staff are all lovely, kind and friendly, the food is very good and the room cleaning is amazing. Everyone at Quinta Jardins do Lago is doing everything they possibly can to make your stay the best possible. Even tho’ most people these days prefer to walk the 15 minutes down to the historic centre of Funchal, the Hotel offers a free amazing bus service every hour down to the harbour at Funchal.

It is a very peaceful tropical oasis. You relaxed the moment you walked into the hotel. It was quiet…..so calming. The staff were very attentive, the food was excellent and the gardens were glorious.

Nothing, everything fabulous. We cannot find fault with anything and can't wait for a return visit.

What a wonderful hotel, from the moment we arrived until we left the staff could not do enough for you. We stayed on a b&b basis but did eat in the restaurant on a few occasions. The breakfast is the best I've had anywhere and the food in the restaurant is superb, beautifully cooked and presented. There's a courtesy bus that will take you into Funchal (saves walking down a steep hill) and picks you up when you're ready. The weather was lovely, we swam in the pool and had lunch on occasion at the pool bar, again delicious 😋. Colombo, a giant tortoise lives at the hotel and is so friendly, 65 years old!

Everything. Wonderful garden, views. The staff was super helpful. Rooms are big and nice with very comfortable not soft bed. Complimentary fruits on check-in. Wanted to stay more. 10 out of 10.

Everything about this hotel is superb, only slightest grumble, still using shower curtains in bathrooms, would be nicer to be replaced by a modern screen.

A quiet oasis within a short distance from the centre of Funchal with well maintained, beautiful gardens. Very high standard throughout the hotel, with exceptional staff who could not do enough to help.

Quinta Jardins do Logo is a very special place to stay. The hotel combines luxury and comfort with friendly, efficient and courteous staff. The gardens are absolutely beautiful as is the pool area. We had such a lovely stay and would love to return.

Location uphill with great views. About a 15 minute walk to town but there is a regular courtesy bus. It is possible to walk back if you are reasonably fit (don’t have to be an Olympic athlete as some reviews claim!). Breakfast amazing with plenty of choice. Food at dinner in the restaurant was superb. The service is fabulous and very personalised - the staff remember what room you are in and the things you like. They go out of their way to ensure you are happy. The pool area and gardens are gorgeous - no one could be disappointed with these. Colombo the tortoise is an added pleasure. The icing on the cake for us was the bubbly and chocolates left in our room on our silver wedding anniversary. Oh and Chega at breakfast who made sure my husband got the pasteis de nata he liked! We were presented with two boxes of them to take home on our last morning - so kind!

Altogether a very pleasant stay in a lovely setting. The hotel is a good 20 minutes walk from the town centre but there is a free hotel shuttle and frequent local buses.
