How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

Verified reviewThe location is really good, close to the centre by metro. There are lots of restaurants and supermarkets around. The staff are friendly. The room was big enough for two people with two suitcases, new and very clean. The lighting in the room was nice, and it was quiet at night, so we slept well.
Breakfast is served in the basement with limited seating, so it gets very crowded in the morning. The space between the food counters is small, making it difficult to walk around and get everything you want on your plate.

Verified reviewThe room was very clean with a balcony, the breakfast was good, the staff went out of their way to help us with directions and the metro was literally a short walk away.
The barking dog was not good, sounds of the emergency services was loud, but obviously necessary, as it's a busy City.

Verified reviewHotel is very clean, comfortable and quiet. Decor, furniture and beds look modern and stylish. Bed and pillows were super comfy, which we needed after all the walking and activities we did around Lisbon. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the continental breakfast was way better than expected!
Room was a bit too small for 2 people and our luggage. If I opened my luggage then we couldn't open the front door LOL! But the room was still very nice!! The location is about a 15 min walk to the city centre, which isn't bad, but the area where the hotel is located can look a bit sketchy at night.

Very small breakfast area and can run out of available space. The bathroom fan was not working(or very weak) so the smell from the drain was very present if I didn’t air the room. The AC only went to 23 which was still very cold for me. Could regulate the temperature enough and not at all the fan speed

Verified reviewWe only stayed for one night and it was a last minute booking, but we loved the room! Very comfortable bed and a big terrace made our stay very pleasant. Very friendly staff and good location with many restaurants nearby, also very easy access to the city centre.
Occasionally there was a strong smell coming from the bathroom although it was really very clean.

Verified reviewI stayed at this hotel for four nights at the end of July. The front desk staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay. They kindly received an important piece of mail on my behalf and always responded quickly to my requests. At check-in, Diogo even greeted me in a bit of Japanese, which made me feel very welcome. The room was clean and well-equipped, with a kettle and coffee provided - small touches that made the stay more comfortable. Overall, the hospitality and cleanliness made for a pleasant stay, though I recommend being cautious when exploring the neighborhood.
One thing to note is that the area around the hotel didn’t feel very safe, especially when going out alone. I found myself a bit on edge whenever I stepped out.
