Really comfy beds and total blackout possible in the rooms - best sleeps for years! Relaxed informal buffet breakfasts were superb too....enjoyed sitting in the lounge area rather than a formal dining room. 24 hour teas, coffee and port was much appreciated too.

Didn’t eat breakfast in the hotel as the area is a little gloomy first thing in the morning.

Beautiful room with fantastic views. Hotel well situated with easy access to all parts of the city. Very friendly helpful staff. Enjoyed being able to have free tea & coffee & biscuits in the bar whenever we wanted.

The rooms are a little tired and for the cost, I think they could be improved. Bathroom was in need of refurbishment.

A great location and lovely staff. Really nice touch of the free coffee, water, biscuits and port in the hotel lobby for guests to use at their leisure. Really great breakfast buffet and the location of the hotel couldn't be better. Very comfortable bed and extremely clean hotel.

Some roadworks outside one night, but that was not the hotel's fault. One trivial suggestion: a couple of hooks on the bathroom door or wall to hold clothes while showering.

Residents' lounge area with tea, coffee, small snacks and Port available all day. Beautiful small swimming pool & gym in the basement (not noticed when we booked but a happy surprise). Exceptionally helpful staff and excellent housekeeping.

Did not like the choice of wine in the lounge. There was no dressing table with accessible mirror. No shaving mirror. ( The miror in the bathroom was ok but too far away for shaving or for my wife making her face up.) Would like to see a larger hotel sign on the front of the building making it easier to locate.

Comfort level in the room. Being able to control the room heating. Liked the all day coffee. Liked the extended breakfast. Liked the attentive and well mannered staff.

The breakfast buffet was delicious with tempting Portuguese tarts on offer. Tea and coffee were available in the lounge throughout the day. A glass of port was on offer also. The room was spacious and elegant with a street-view from the window. The position of the hotel in the old town allowed easy access to many sights. The staff members were very welcoming and helpful.

Churlish after free facilities in the lobby but drinks (tea/coffee) in the room would have been nice....but that was it, a fantastic hotel.

Nearly everything, it was our favorite hotel of all we have stayed at, staff were fantastic, the room beyond reproach, the breakfasts great and the location superb. The tea and coffee making facilities and odd glass of wine (free!) were a great and memorable touch.

The location of the hotel is incredibly central to many sites and sets along the beautiful Avenue da Liberdade. We had a 4th floor balcony overlooking the street and the views were great. Room was spacious, clean, and had great attention to detail. Breakfast was fantastic and is served until noon daily which, if on vacation and sleeping in, really helps. Staff were accommodating for everything and pleasant all around. The hotel is unassuming from the outside but once you enter, it is one of the most beautiful hotels on the inside and within the rooms. We would definitely stay there again.

WiFi a bit hit and miss for me, but my partner experienced no problems. It might not be a super modern hotel, but I wouldn't say that was a detracting quality.

We had to book a hotel at the last minute due to our flight being cancelled. We feel we were lucky to get this hotel, as there wasn't many left at a reasonable price at short notice. Staff very helpful and friendly. Great location on Av. Liberdade. Close to metro and funicular tram. Buffet breakfast from 07:30 - 12noon. Free port, selection of teas and coffees available from 12noon. Very quiet hotel. Rooms comfortable and well appointed. Library with DVD's. Small gym and pool.

The location was terrific. We arrived at 8:30 am from Barcelona. Though we were not checked in yet, we were invited to have coffee and breakfast. By 10am the staff had us in a beautiful room. The bathroom was huge. Beds were comfortable. Bed and bath linens were wonderful. The all day Nespresso machine is delightful if you're a coffee drinker. American coffee also available. Warm milk for your coffee. Fresh oranges or else already prepared juice. Lots of great cheese, meats, cereal, yogurt and fresh fruit available. I do not enjoy Port but it is available all afternoon in the bar area, complimentary. . My partner said it was good quality. You can also purchase wine or other beverages. Tea and cucumber water also available all day. The staff are fluent in English and always ready with great advice. Take the time to wander some of the non-touristy neighborhoods for a real flavor of Lisbon. Our favorite restaurant was Quermesse, just a few blocks from the hotel. Don't miss the Pork Confit (best in the world) 9.85e or the NY Style Blueberry Cheesecake (3.75e). Unfortunately we tried it on our last evening.

The staff was very welcoming and the hotel itself is attractive, clean and in a good location for exploring the city. The room was very comfortable. We enjoyed the indoor pool and the great breakfast buffet. We would stay here again & recommend it to others.

Unclear booking arrangements. It seems we may have been booked for inclusive breakfast but believed that we weren't so went out each day. the little pool and gym were overheated.

Great location. Very comfortable bedroom and lovely bathroom. We loved coming back in the evening to the elegant and comfortable hotel foyer and having a glass of complimentary port or Moscatel or tea/coffee. A very nice touch.

Breakfast was ok but could have done with more fresh fruit and a toaster would be nice.

Beautiful property with lots of nice design details, excellent location, friendly helpful staff. Room quite small but ok for one guest. Nice touch: guests can help themselves to tea, coffee, water and two kinds of port in the lobby and relax in very comfortable surroundings.

The location is very convenient for walking to various sites and to the metro. The staff makes you feel at home without being over-the-top. We loved the lemon water and port in the lobby!
