Restaurant is a bit small, could be crowded easily if all rooms booked. Breakfast is okay, could improve a lot if they used local, regional products.

Very friendly staff, always ready to help and inform. Quality place, excellent if you're looking for a quiet place to rest and chill out. Pool is very nice also. Location is good, near all local attractions.

A little dated, but it grew on me. The common rooms, bar etc are beautifu,l as are the gardens.

The staff were lovely and went the extra mile for us. The location is beautiful...take a walk in the field below and see the ancient olives, one 2400 years old! Suite was comfortable and very clean. Monsaraz is amazing,

The food wasn't brilliant but too too bad either.

A very relaxing place to unwind and break up a trip from Lisbon to Seville. The town of Monsaraz was an added bonus as it was a beautiful little village, not very touristy and the views from the bull ring on the very top of the hill were breathtaking. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who likes to be amongst nature yet close to a wonderful village.

Beautiful location under the hill city of Montsaraz. Easy drive to Evora and poterry town of Covelo. Dinner was a buffet and missed its mark for us. Breakfasts were very good. Pool was wonderful.

The restaurant could be much better and include more salads and natural fruit juices; local food is very very rich, so after a couple of days you feel the need to slow down and turn vegan for a day :)

The suites were great and spacious; The a/c works super fine (even when outside temperature reached 114F); The swimming pool and surrounding areas were very pleasant; The breakfast was very good.

We loved this area of Monsaraz and the Hotel da Moura was a lovely property to stay while visiting the ancient town of Monsaraz. The rooms are very spacious and all the buildings and facilities have stunning architecture with beautiful decorative interior finishing work. The breakfast offerings were substantial and the infinity swimming pool was a cooling relief from the 45c degree heat of the day.We would certainly recommend this facility to others.

This place is wonderful! If you are looking for a place to relax and switch off, this is it! The room is big and very comfortable. the bathroom is also big. the swimming pool is amazing and the view speechless! The breakfast is amazing! All products are very fresh and of excellent quality! Horta da Moura is very well located, less than 5 min driving from beautiful Monsaraz, and close to Mourao and Reguengos. It is very well signposted and easy to find. The staff is kind and helpful. We loved our stay here!

The restaurant is described as a gastronomic experience on the hotel website, however the menu was only 2 set options and snacks with no al a carte menu, despite prior enquiry and confirmation that this existed. Unfortunately the restaurant had more of a cafeteria feel Did not receive the welcome drink

The location grounds and style of the hotel was lovely however a little tired and missing a bit of tender care. The staff were very apologetic regards our disappointing experience with the restaurant menu and tried to make amends however failed to point out different bar areas which were open

My room, although with a lovely accompanying patio and view, was a bit spartan compared to the public spaces of the hotel and the shower curtain had an uninviting rust-colored stain in the bottom 1/6th portion. Also, the restaurant--which had fancy local dishes and a fine-dining aura--was a bit pricey by Portugal standards (not USA or European standards) and considering the low cost of the Hotel accommodations.

Beautiful setting, grounds, public spaces. Really luxurious considering the rural location and the price. This is a converted Moorish farm and the lounges were filled with monumental fireplaces, plush divans and sofas, wood-beamed or brick-vaulted ceilings, handsome tiling, and gorgeous antiques and decorations; there were homey libraries and game rooms, several bars, a modern infinity pool that overlooked the hillside and nearby lake region, and HUGE, HUGE (some 6-feet tall) pots filled with flowers and/or other local floral at every corner of the farm. The grounds included stables for horseback riding, braying donkeys, horses and other farm animals, bicycles for exploring the countryside, vineyards and other planted crops, cobblestoned walks and driveways, whitewashed buildings with Moorish towers and ranch-styled architecture, and a first-class luxury restaurant. The whole place had an aura of rural decadence and pampered farm/ ranch delight.

The lack of staff in the bar during early evening and later. For the time of year we thought it should have been staffed better especially as Euro 2016 football was showing!!,!

Disappointed that a potentially great place in the center of the Alentejo wine region could not serve a glass of wine before 7pm (except a house wine in plastic glass at the pool). Restaurant staff could not give recommendations or comments on the very extensive and impressive wine list. Breakfast only starting at 8:30 - strange when you want an early start to avoid midday temperatures approaching 40 C, or as in our case, needing to catch a late morning flight from Lisbon.

Outstanding breakfast and friendöy breakfast staff.

Poor wifi connection, small number of cable TV channels, too low and soft pillows, the mini-bar and pantry area could be improved, better tea facilities, bigger safe box in the bedroom.

Beautiful location very close to the lake, very clean interior and exterior and well-kept grounds, well-kept vegetable gardens, the very old olive trees in the property (the second oldest is found here -- around 2,500 years old!), friendly staff, excellent breakfast (the breads are especially good), good amenities, plenty of activities that can be done (nice lounges, play room, bar, swimming pool, horse riding, walking), good parking, cosy but not dated feel of decorations, spacious junior suite, firm king-size bed, good quality bathrobes and slippers. It's a perfect choice for relaxation.

there was no water from perhaps 1 am. That meant no toilets, no shower etc. Public areas were so cold people were wearing coats and scarves. They laid small fires in several places, but there was no way that those small fires would warm those big spaces. They are not prepared for winter visitors. The lack of water should have meant that the price was reduced, but it wasn't. Breakfast didn't start until 8.30 am. It was supposed to be part of the price, but we had to be on the road early. So, no shower, no brushing of teeth, no breakfast. Not good.
