The only complaint would be that you cannot park in front of the hotel but has to drive up the hill to park, the parking in front of the hotel is only for loading/unloading.

    Good location, spacious room.

Beds were a little too hard for me as well the pillow was small.

Very friendly helpful staff, even at breakfast. Great location. Numerous cafes shops and restaurants nearby. Short walk to funicular or walkway. About 15 min easy walk from bus station.

Parking options very far away... Really the only negative point. But since they're so near the beach, there aren't any parking options anyway. Some 500m above there are parking options for free, but this only works in the winter, since in the summer it's most certainly filled all the time. Bathroom could have a chair or anything to put clothes on during shower, etc.

Breakfast is really bad, there is quite a big choice of food but all of it is of very low quality that you can hardly eat it. In general I had the impression that the hotel has facade and reception much nicer than the rooms. Rooms are quite old fashioned while the facade and reception are modern. When you first came in you expect the rooms to be the same as the hall, but then you come into the room and it disappoints you a bit.

Very fast internet, excellent location right close to the ocean, spacious room, helpful staff.

    Nothing

Once we found the hotel the first time, it was easy to navigate to it and to different sites we wanted to see. The hotel staff was wonderful with helping us on our trip, explaining ways to get to sites and personal info about the sites. They had a great breakfast in top floor of hotel with a great view.

Unfortunately Hotel did not take into consideration our private wish, which was not confirmed or garanteed, however it could be a very pleasant suprise, which did not happend. Low level floor to a craudy street, where some work has started at 8:00 am at the morning. Breakfast enough to be full very limited choice

The breakfast food choices lacked protein. The beds (2 twins we pushed together) were not particularly comfortable. They were hard with a small firmer pillow.

I liked our view and our balcony. I liked having an elevator, air conditioning and breakfast included. The room was basic but as expected. We liked the friendly and helpful staff. We loved the location.

The system of room cleaning isn't flexible. If you want it get cleaned, you have to actually get out immediately after breakfast and stay out for the most of the afternoon. That is if you don't want to communicate your schedule. Of course, if you do, you can probably ask for your room to get cleaned in the certain period of the day and probably everything is going to be fine. But that means that every day you have to talk to the staff about your schedule, which is tiring. There are ways to plan a cleaning schedule around your guests' schedule, not vice versa. It would be much more comfortable for guests and in most better hotels it works like that. Also, internet broke down approx. two times in 4 days. We were on our vacation, so it didn't matter, but for some guests it could have been annoying.

Excellent location, friendly staff, clean, nice rooms, everything was really nice.

Some noise comes from outside since the windows are not sound "proof" and motorcyclists do not respect the quiet hours in the afternoon and late in the night.

50 meters from the beach, 100 from the funicular for the upper town. Very convenient to visit the old cities and UNESCO monuments in the area. Air conditioning unit in each room, so no problem in the summer.

Breakfast was one of the worst I've ever had. Very limited selection and absolutely no warm dishes - no mashed eggs, bacon or something similar. Other bad thing is that you will hear pretty much everything what your neighbours do, rooms have absolutely no noise isolation.

This 3 star hotel was like 25% more expensive than nice 4 star hotels in Lisbon and Porto. Breakfast was the worst: cheap ham and cheese - 1 sort each, horrible coffee, 50% of fruits FROM THE CAN! In Portugal! In summer! Instead of orange juice - some cheap instant drink. Poor WIFI signal, constantly off. The weirdest was the bathroom: when you try to sit on the toilet, the sink is basically laying on your lap. Hotel is located in a vivid square with several places with live music, which is not necessarily a bad thing - unless you like to go to sleep before 5 am. Upon the checkout they tried to charge us few euros more.

3 min to the beach (the most crowded one), 3 min to A Tasquinha (a great family run restaurant - don't forget to make a reservation, they are VERY popular), 10 min by foot to the bus station to/from Porto and Lisbon. Bed was also comfortable enough.

    1) The parking is located 500 meters from the hotel! You have to walk on a high hill to reach it and they do not have a shuttle service!! You waste a lot of time to go back and forth with the luggage and it is very boring and tyring!! Not everyone can afford it. 2) Breakfast with very limited choices. 3) No plugs in the bathroom. *** My standards are generally higher than average, that is why my opinions often clash with others. I write in English for the benefit of everyone; we are living in a global world.

    1) Location of the hotel.

The cupboard was diabolical, it only had enough space to hang clothes with no shelves for smaller articles one usually takes on a beach holiday. The safe had no lock on it, making it completely useless. But these were minor issues in view of the great holiday we enjoyed.

Great location with easy access to beach, shops, restaurants and train. Hotel offered everything we needed for our stay. Room was clean and the beds were very comfortable. My wife broke a crown during the stay and the staff on duty were very helpful in getting us an emergency dental appointment during peak holiday season. The young man at reception (Daniel I think?) and the young lady at the breakfast area add value to the establishment, my compliments to them. The breakfast area had the best views of Nazare.

There was a sporting competition being held on the weekend we stayed at the hotel. There were a number of athletes staying at the Hotel Mare. They were extremely noisy and disrespectful of other patrons. Running up and down hallways, banging on doors at all hours of the night. The chaperons or hotel staff didn't seem to intervene on behalf of the other patrons staying there. The hotel is a little tired looking. Carpets need to be replaced; bathrooms updated.

The fellow who helped us to check in was very helpful and we appreciated his kind advice. The location is very handy to the beach, restaurants and shopping.
