The pool closed a little early, it said 9pm but because it was heated in April they closed early and many kids were disappointed.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The pool was right outside our door making it so easy for us to relax while the kids enjoyed. Perfect for families. Great location, and great value too. Couldn’t fault it.

Decor was a little dated.

Good location, short walk down to the centre of town/village. It is quite steep though. Pool areas were nice, but the weather during our stay was not warm enough to go into the pool. The apartment was very spacious. Parking outside the apartment.

The hotel has several units spread out on a hill. The walk up to the units is quite steep. It is not suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

The apartment was very spacious and clean. The staff at reception were exceptionally friendly and efficient. They went out of their way to help us with transfers to and from the property. There are many good restaurants within a short walk from the hotel. Three we liked were Donna Maria, Levels and A Vela. Tyron at Levels was exceptionally friendly and Antonia at A Vela was a hoot. The food at all three restaurants was excellent. All in all, our stay at the Monte Dourado was very comfortable. We highly recommend it. Exceptional value.

It was just the walk up the hill but that couldn’t be helped due to the nature of the resort. It got easier as the week went by so all in all, it was good exercise!

The property was only a short walk to the village. and beach. It was an extremely spacious place to stay and I would imagine that it would be nice and cool to stay there in the heat of the Summer. It was nice to have a garden.

Power cut off after switching on some of electricity devices, but the technician came and fixed it asap.

One of the resorts pools was heated and we swam there, but it was still on the chilly side and the kids lasted no more then 20-30 min on sunny days. (Wheather was quite cold January; 16-18 degrees) In the end we swam in the ocean mostly, which was only a very short enjoyable walk away.

Facilities were well maintained, and cared for we stayed for 7 nights and got clean towels once and cleaning (we got a LOt of towels, which was great!), apartment was very completely equipped, plenty of space in our 6 bedroom appt, we enjoyed the pool, the view, the surroundings with beautiful beaches, even a fireplace to keep us warm and cozy on the colder nights in January. It was a great winter-escape and highly recommend it!

Wee bit cold - we went in December have been nice if someone would have switched in the heating before we arrived as it gets pretty chilly at night and takes a long time to warm up.

Amazing location- 2 minute walk to shops, restaurants and beach. It’s all about the location with this property - yea there are probably more luxury apartments in the town but you would have to walk 25 -30 mins or get a taxi. Great jump off point for the 7 hanging valley hike.

Our stay was at Christmas, so it went cold at night. There was no heater in either the bathrooms or the kitchen. The Aircon in the bedrooms and lounge kept them nice and warm, but the bathroom next to the kitchen was always cold. We closed the door and didn't use it.

Great apartment! Very homely, comfy beds and furniture. Kitchen had everything you'd need. Loads of towels provided and the beds were changed and towels replaced during our stay. Nice and quiet, but only a short walk down the hill to shops bars and restaurants.

Apartment very spacious and exceptionally clean however was a bit dated and kitchen could have been better equipped for basics. Couldn’t find a chopping board. This was however only applicable to the apartment we stayed in. Have stayed many times in different apartments and this will not put us off future stays in the complex.

Very central and easily accessible for beach, restaurants and shops. Well kept complex. We had requested where possible a ground floor apartment and this was accommodated.

A few basics would help - salt and pepper, tea and coffee etc. I run a property management company in South Devon in the UK so appreciate that a few basics do make a difference especially if arriving late.

I’ve always liked this property (53a), and have stayed there 3 times. I travel alone so it’s always reassuring to know where you’re located, the route into town if walking etc. I recently had a total hip replacement and the peace and calm of the location is ideal for me together with very few stairs. The property is well equipped, clean and tidy and the staff at reception are exceptionally helpful.
