Although the restaurant is great, I do not recommend the risotto. Plus, i found it very unpleasant to be charged to park my car in an outside parking, when there are no other means of transportation and no other parking spots near! For an elegant hotel, this attitude lacks elegance.

The hotel has magnificent views. The room was very large and spacious, so was the bathroom. Very comfortable bed, clean sheets and towels. Excelent breakfast and restaurant, and spa facilities (interior pool, turkish bath and jacuzzi - which had clean water even at the end of the day).

They charge for parking which makes absolutely no sense given the amount of space available on premises and around the hotel.

The hotel is nestled in a forest with several walking trails nearby. The Pool and Sauna were excellent, the water was just at the right temperature. An excellent breakfast can be savored by admiring the wonderful view of the forest and mountains.

Breakfast was not always fast at replacing food and you have to pay for parking.

Breakfast was good and facilities were also clean. The access to footpath trails was great for nature lovers.

The SPA was great, but we needed to buy the "shower cap" since we didn't bring one (it was expensive for the quality, but it was worth paying since it allowed us to use the spa pool and sauna). Workers were nice. Breakfast was good.

The dinner service was disastrous. In addition to the waiting time (the experience took us almost 2 hours for a full meal!), the quality of the products was clearly low for the expectations of a 4-star hotel (we wait 45 minutes to have bread on the table!). the service was very poor (the ice cream was served almost in a liquid state) revealing a total lack of customer care. Total lack of management of people, services and products.

Pool: one of the 2 main jets of water was broken all the time! Rooms: no shower gel or champoo! Restaurant: always, in the past, exceptionally good, this time, I paid a dinner to all my friends, ordered different dishes, all that I had already eaten there, and not even ONE, was good! They need to change the chef because, what a joke this time! But as I said, even in February, everything was perfect! Not this time!

Facilities are fine but....they are dropping quality! I go there at least 2 times each year! Last time was in February! In February everything was much better, sorry to tell.

We were not aware that it was mandatory to use swim cap at the indoor pool (at least we didn't see in the description) - the hotel sell swim caps in the reception for about 5 euros each

Had a mix up with the rates I booked on Booking. I asked to rectify but it was not even considered. so that’s a bit disappointing . One doesn’t want to alienate possible future guests in this way! A hotel should bend backwards to keep clientele. Love the concept of minimalism here - altho this hotel borders on soullessness!!! Almost hospitalar. Needs a designer boost to raise it to the level it should be to raise its status. Food of the resto was was acceptable but could be improved greatly - I asked for the phyllo rice pudding dessert and twice it arrived not crispy or golden enough but soggy & wet underneath.

Definitely location: In the forest on the river Minho! Fixe! Comfy beds and spacious rooms all overlooking the river, forest and pool area. The fabulous forest hiking trail on wooden walkway was the highlight here! 💚 Love the use of the beautiful super clean pools of the spa ( incl in the hotel price - WELL DONE! ) A first!

Hotel is far away from historical center (you need car or taxi to visit the historical center of Melgaco), in Spa was only one sauna, the restaurant menu was only in Portuguese and Spanish (no English menu)
