Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Room 011: noisy and the air conditioning did not work. Opening the window was not a good option to refleja the room because of the noice.

Although the hotel is undergoing partial rennovation, the staff are doing all they can to compensate for that discomfort. During our excellent dinner, Joao talked to us about the history of the building starting from the Roman ages which was totally fascinating.

Main gripe I was woken in the night by sound of dripping water.The roof hatch had water dripping out of it I was too tired to do anything except put towels there.We had just finished a month cycling and had flights back to Australia ahead of us.So sorry when you've lost sleep is not quite enough.
Great spacious room, incredible bathroom 2 hand basins, separate toilet and bidet.Very comfortable bed.Lovely lounges downstairs and great pool area too cold to use.Breakfast very good although no card menu all precooked.Good safe storage of ebikes

all was lovely. hotel suggested taking a taxi. I don't recommend taking a taxi - he ripped me off. Take an Uber instead.
Hotel offers EXCELLENT service. Great/ generous breakfast. The staff pays attention to each detail to ensure your stay is exceptional. My room had a partial view of the Belem Tower. The bathroom was spacious. Comfortable bed and pillows. High quality bathroom products. Highly recommend this hotel if you want a lovely experience at an affordable price. Hotel is 10-15 mins to the center of Lisbon.

They are facing problems with the AC, since my previous stay. Hence room was too warm (winter in Lisbon is not exactly cold).

Nothing really. We had an amazing stay !
We came to Lisbon to relax for the weekend and we had a great stay ! The staff was kind and helpful, the bedroom was comfy and we just loved the design of the hotel and it's history overall. The amenities are great, we enjoyed the indoor swimming pool and the sauna. The breakfast has plenty of options and was delicious. We will definitely come again !

My family and I could stay and enjoy the room with the special gift for new year eve. Also, the breakfast of new year was so delicious. As Lisbon is favorite place for us, we would like to visit and stay the hotel again.

Beautiful rooms. Excellent service. Very convenient location, walkable to belem. We even got a breakfast box to go since our flight was early in the morning.

I loved the professionalism of every single member of staff! The reception staff were outstanding. The breakfast was outstanding as were the breakfast staff. The dining staff were outstanding and catered to my special requests on more than one occasion. The bathroom and toilet facilities were exceptionally clean. The pool and spa facilities were outstanding as were the staff. The Hotel is in a perfect location. I have already recommended this hotel to friends and will continue to do so. Thank you for having us.

Palacio do Governador is a nice hotel very close to some major attractions of Lisbon. Our room was nice, but A/C did not work well and fridge did not work at all. They changed it, but still did not work. Unfortunately the staff working there were a little too much, thinking everything here is great. We liked their underground parking and the breakfast was pretty amazing with everything you could desire from champagne, mimosas and even a Chef to do your special omellettes. A little more welcoming staff and checking their rooms wouold make this place at least a 9.

The staff was very friendly and helpful! Hugo at the front desk went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The decoration, lighting, and breakfast were well above average! It is within walking distance to Belem Tower and Jeronimos Monastery.
