What is not to be liked?

Every aspect of our stay was amazing. The room was equipped with all the necessary amenities. The hotel has beautiful rooms reflecting decades of history. The staff was very kind. The breakfast buffet was top notch. We loved the spa in the month of January.

Unfortunately a little uncomfortable beds that take some getting used to. Spa was not open.

If you are looking for a calm&relaxing time around the outside pool, then this is not the hotel for you : there is a big park right next to the hotel, where a lot of activities are held. The music/noise coming from the park is unbearable. The day the park was calm, the grass was cut in the hotel garden, and there was a live dj performance by the pool in the afternoon! We also spent an afternoon with a generator noise (?) on the street. Also, make sure you don’t get a room next to the lift, which makes a lot of noise during the night when in use.

I was surprised by the price for the lunch buffet and the dinner we had. Both were more expensive than other hotels and fine dining experiences we had on the trip, but overall the meals were good.

The hotel staff were kind and helpful, the facilities great, and the spa was a relaxing, wonderful experience.

Shower - takes 10-15 mins to heat the water (feels criminal to let it run that long) and the drainage was poor so kept flooding Need a professional coffee barista - coffee was below standard

The first evening we were there we decided to have a meal in the terrace restaurant as it looked like a great setting overlooking the pool and had a nice menu. We had terrible service which was so disappointing as overall the service in the hotel was good. There was a big event going on in one of the suites so it seemed most of the staff had been deployed to that. Had we known we would have gone out to eat.

My husband wanted to stay at this hotel because it featured in one of the Bond movies. It is an absolutely beautiful hotel and didn’t disappoint. The swimming pool area is magnificent with plenty of comfortable sun beds, a convenient bar and a very good pool attendant. The breakfast was delicious, so much choice and a beautiful setting. It was very easy to get from the hotel into Cascais for more sightseeing, eats and drinks. Only a mile or two and a few euros in an Uber.
