Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

FranceSomeone smoked in the bathroom, a dirty carbage smell in the room and the bathroom. The products of the breakfast were industrial and not a big choice.
It was calm, the bathroom was clean.

GreeceThe location is the worst possible, quite dangerous especially for a woman alone(and not only). My friends that stayed elsewhere had to accompany me there every night so I don't go back alone. The price for a single room in that area is high
Everything was decent, the breakfast, the room- although pretty small- (4th floor,no elevator) I already knew about the shared bathroom so I cannot complain and it was clean and it is near a metro station

Germanyits very difficult to find a parking space. i cannot recommend to enter to old part of the city by car. because of the small streets it can take very very long to exit again. if you use the commercial parking space like 500 meters from the hotel you pay around 20 euro for a night.
we traveled with 2 pitbulls (friendly but huge) which is in most hotels a problem. not here. everything easy. the hotel staff very friendly and cool. hotel is located in the center of the old part of lisbon. old building. so the rooms are small. but cheap. after reading the reviews of a lot of other people i thought those are kind of unfair. last not least: a big supermarket is like 5 minutes walking distance. a minimarket is just on the other side of the street. streetfood is very cheap in the area.

GermanyThe beds as mentioned earlier!
The place is extremely central in Lisbon, which ofc is a plus point! The beds were quite clean, and the place even though in a rundown building has been painted with brightest colors and they’ve tried to transform it a lot! I liked the beds, the room and the bathroom. And we were also provided with a fan. The only discomfort (of a higher degree) that we experienced was the beds! They were quite uncomfortable, with the mattress sinking deep into the bed, leaving us restless and over exhausted, with frequent body pains for the days we stayed here. However the breakfast was really good, bathroom quite clean, and towels quite clean! We were also provided frequent room cleaning within the same booking charges. We booked a room with an attached bathroom and a double bed.

CanadaI was on the top floor, which required climbing up 5 long flights of stairs, as there is no elevator. However, a young man on staff did bring up my heavy suitcase for me, which was much appreciated.
I stayed there for 3 nights in Sept. Excellent location very close to Martim Moniz Metro station and downtown tourist area. Facilities were basic, but adequate, and the price was right. Don't stay here if you want luxury. The building is old, but has a certain quaint charm, and it was quiet at night for a good sleep. Rooms are tidied every day. Good place for the budget-conscious traveller. Breakfast was included, and did not offer everything under the sun, but provided the basics and coffee was available with a nice pot of hot milk, which I appreciated. There is a small bar there that serves coffee and drinks, both alcoholic and non. Staff were friendly in my interactions with them, and I was able to communicate in English reasonably well. My room on the top floor was hot on hot days, but was equipped with a good floor fan.
