Lack of soundproofing. Could hear plumbing from other rooms. Inconsiderate guests talking and scraping chairs on balcony in early hours of morning; and, please dear guest, if you are going to walk around in room above in early hours, please take off your shoes, as room is only partly carpeted! Ear plugs helped.

Second stay at this hotel, and staff are amazing. Very rare to find a hotel where ALL the staff are consistently polite, helpful and positive. Some staff same as last year, but others new, and all very nice. Relaxed and unpretentious atmosphere, but still professional. Lovely sea view, and comfortable beds. Great breakfast. Location is perfect for beach, and a short stroll to town.

Noisy neighbours as we were placed in a room with connecting door to their room !! Security called at 2am but really disturbed nights !

Staff were not too friendly. Did not greet us warmly and and on departing did not ask us if we had enjoyed our stay or would we return again. I think they need to be re trained as to how to be friendly with their customers. However, hotel was very comfortable with beautiful sea views and perfect location. Perhaps because of its great location they will ALWAYS have customers and do not need to put in the extra effort to attract people to their hotel.

All the staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. The location is amazing being only a 5 minute (if that) walk to the town where theres bars and restaurants and the beach is all of about a 10 second walk. The beach itself is also massive and very clean. The rooms are good and the beds comfortable. Will almost certainly back to this hotel

The room was ok and clean, but is outdated and needs an overhaul. Kitch decoration, dirty curtains, carpet... Most of the common areas are covered with carpet and many water infiltrations can be seen through windows and ceilings when it's raining (we had a lot of rain). The breakfast had a good variety of fresh products, but the juice was a cheap, oversweet, powder juice. Not a 4-star hotel, but really fair for the price.

The location was great, nearby restaurants in Alvor. The beach was amazing.

Staff were verging on rude, unfriendly and unhelpful. There was a young woman and a young man at breakfast who were polite and friendly. Some of the furnishings were looking tired. A land view room is overlooking spare ground and the car park. Personal trainer - there is no contact number held by the hotel and when asked was told to sit in the gym and se if they turned up. The gym was open 12 hours a day. No kettle or iron in the room. No free drinks downstairs either. If you have the evening buffet, only beer is free. All other drinks - wine and water were both charged for.

Breakfast was okay if you ignore the coffee and fruit drinks. Plenty of choice.

Safe, comfortable for solo traveller. Good for anyone with walking difficulties, especially direct access to boardwalk. Great bathroom and bath. Used room service twice, was OK. Breakfast spread was good but found the Hot food was barely warm even when I went around 7.45am Would have been nice to have tea/coffee making in the room -especially in low season as it was cold and nothing open nearby - I never saw anyone at the bar either. Hairdyer would have been nice too Low season visitors be aware there is not much nearby that is open in evenings - you will need to walk quite far in the dark/cold

The hotel is set in pretty gardens with space to sit amongst trees. Right on a pristine beach with broadwalk. View from the large windows on landings are amazing at sunset. Sauna, steam room and small indoor pool are free. Fairly easy acess and movement for people who have mobility issues - ramps and stair lift. Eduadra?(Head receptionist) was lovely to everyone , as was chambermaid but other staff on reception , at spa and in dining room barely interacted.

Our room faced the beach and directly to the South. Despite the cool temperatures outside, the sun had warmed the room to the extent that it was uncomfortably hot. Although there is an air conditioning system in the room, the cooling was not working and we therefore spent an unpleasantly warm night.

This is an older, but renovated hotel, with comfortable rooms and good facilities in an excellent location on the beach at Alvor. Breakfast was included and the overall visit was good value.

I liked everything about the hotel you could not fault it.

I loved the great choice of food at breakfast. I also liked being able to get a table outside and the staff were very helpful in this regard. The beach and the broadwalk were fantastic to walk. We were identifying birds and we wondered if this would be another thing you could offer guests. If you had someone local to do walks or some classes on the different types of birds in the area.

The property was tired, and the management lax. Glasses from the night before were left on the closed bar, which you had to pass on the way to the restaurant or gardens, for the whole day on 2 occasions. An ashtray full of cigarette ends and water was left at the foot of the steps down to the garden for the whole of our stay. The water in the pool was clean, but the walls and the bottom were dirty. There was nothing that a conscientious manager couldn't put right in half a day.

Decor needs updating and a greater variety of fruit and juices for breakfast.

The hotel grounds and the pool were good and the location by the lovely beach excellent. We had a large balcony and a fabulous view in a deluxe sea view room but most rooms were small. The decor in the hotel was outdated and reminded me of hotels my husband and I visited when out children were young some 10 - 12 years ago. Staff went out of their way to be helpful and all provided a friendly and efficient service. We only had breakfast in the hotel as there are numerous restaurants scattered along the narrow streets leading to Alvor harbour and also several good fish restaurants by the beach. It was nice to be able to eat outside. Spa is very good. All in all we would return for the outstanding location and the really helpful staff.
