The room was very hot. The excuse was that they had changed to a central air conditioning system but that system obviously did not work. The furniture was, as said, tasteful but also 'faded glory'. The stained carpet did corroborate that impression. The complaint was acknowledged and that led to a more ore less satisfactory price reduction.

The location was excellent. The room was spacious and tasteful. The breakfast was good. Parking was no problem at all.

It was very hot in the hotel, no fresh air, room was big but very old fashioned, no colors , no nice paintings etc. The restaurant looks very nice, but they cooked with a lot of salt which is waisting the taste.

    Location, near the airport

The area around the Pousad was disappointing as were the restaurants within walking distance.

The staff at the front desk were very helpful, the breakfast was good, the bed comfortable, the room size extra large. Very convenient to the summer palace - Portugal’s Versailles.

Ran out of Kleenex- not good when you have a cold . Room was very large but was kept quite warm . It would have been helpful to have some tourism literature available in the sitting area. The wifi really needs to be enhanced. Breakfast gets repetitive if staying for more than one night .

Staff were very helpful , at reception , and in the breakfast room . Were able to assist us with some health concerns, which was very helpful in a country that is not your own

Sometimes the Group Pestana has to invest money in their property. This is my second time in Hotel Pestana the first was Hotel from Porto and a felt the same old furniture (the same furniture that was use when the hotel was open more then 20 years ago). The electric plugs are old and i believe that can be danger, in my stay 2 lamps broke down (one of them starting small fire smoke). Also the charger of my mac computer was way more hot that was usual. The breakfast was bit disappointing already been lower hotels that had way better breakfast.

The hotel it self are very beautiful, very historical building that is big plus. The rooms are large and spacious and with a good bathroom.

The rooms clearly weren't renovated yesterday, but I'd say that it adds to the charm...

Pousada de Dona Maria I forms a great and complex royal experience together with a visit to the Palacio de Queluz and a dinner at the restaurant Cozinha Velha. Breakfast is delicious. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

the hotel does not provide basic things like toothbrush and toothpaste, but hey, to compensate there is a Bible in the cupboard. This is a hotel shoving religion down the guests' throat, it's offensive for people with other (or no) religion. No hotel would push literature about a specific political party or a specific football club, so why does this hotel have to push literature about a specific religion? I just opened the book at random and there was something about gays being unclean and that they should be killed. This is not the kind of literature I want to read before I go to bed. I had worrible nightmares that somebody was coming to kill me. Horrible, horrible night. Please remove this kind of violent material from the hotel. If somebody wants to read Bibles or any other religious book, don't worry, they will bring their own, but please don't push this kind of things on people who feel offended and threatened by it. The hotel is expensive and the minimum that you should provide is an environment where guests don't feel threatened. And don't even start with the excuse that other hotels also keep Bibles in the room, that does not justify your fault in having them. I am not staying in hotels of Pestana Group every again. Thank you.

They promote they have parking and when we got there they didn't have any available. The bed was super hard and old. The place should not be consider a 4 start at all. A 3 start will be better.

No sparkling wine available at the bar & staff could or would not find any.

Freshly baked cakes at reception. Very well appointed room. Excellent breakfast. Great parking. Nice lounge area. The staff when we arrived very helpful - other staff next day less so.

The restaurant in the palace opposite was rather excessive in their wine costs but the food was faultless and interesting.

Comfortable beds, fantastic breakfast included. Location from airport ideal, noteworthy palace opposite. Staff very knowledgable about area, breakfast lady provided over and beyond service.

Lack of facilities in room for coffee or tea and lack of coffee/tea facilities in lounge.

Spacious room, extra comfortable bed, lovely bathroom, fabulous staff attention, very good breakfast service and the affiliated restaurant provided wonderful food and an incredible Portuguese atmosphere - don't miss it!

Very old, stained carpet. Old (but certainly not antique!) furniture. Dated bathroom. Trash behind the curtain. No "palace" atmosphere beyond the reception area. Guests DO NOT see any part of the palace - for that you have to buy a ticket as everyone else does. (If you want that kind of experience, try staying in the Bussaco Palace Hotel near Coimbra) Too expensive for what it is.

Good location close to the airport.

Good hotel and so close to the center of Lisbon. The hotel is extremely quiet and clean. The staff is friendly. I become quite fond of the hotel restaurant due to the preservation of its architecture.
