Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Not the best I have had . The fruit salad was mushy, the tropical fruit didn’t taste very fresh. Would have been nice to have cereal choice out, to see what you have , and maybe a flavoured yogurt.

The settee in the room was not comfortable to sit on, very soft. Some of the chairs in the breakfast room were very noisy and unstable to sit on. The lounge needs updating and is very small.
Breakfast was very good, cooked freshly every day, and the staff accommodating. The location is very central but very hilly, and the surroundings were not very nice, and developing was going on close by.

there were crawling bugs in the room. maybe the location is worth the money, but the room as such not so much.

Faded glory, older hotel, small rooms but nice bathrooms. Higher location up a steep hill so lots of walking as is most of Lisbon.

there was much noise from corridor with lift; I would prefer swedish table breakfast instead of menu but I understand that in relation to the hotel size it is cheaper choice

The furniture was worn and dated and the bed was a bit firm for our liking. Wash cloths would have been nice to have as well.

The only thing is the hotel is on the top of the hill and at the end of the day is bit hard, but is okay.

The lack of clarity of booking.com The room was supposed to be for 4 people, but it appeared that extra charges were required for the 2 additional beds, not clearly mentioned in the reservation. Thanks to the hotel staff who helped us.
Good breakfast, clean, big rooms. Good location in the center but hard to get to the hotel on foot (top of a hill) . The client service oriented of the staff, who gave us an extra room instead of extra beds, and managed the situation with Booking.com with no extra charges.

The hotel is a little bit old-fashioned and would need some renovation, but globally everything was perfect.
Nice hotel, very well located. We had a big room very well equipped and the personnel is nice and welcoming. Breakfast was excellent too.

The hotel is rather old and could need some refurbishment, smallish bedroom, small double bed (with only one blanket)
Excellent breakfast (no buffet but one can order everything from omelettes, fresh fruits to pancakes, fresh orange juice), spacious bathroom, close to city center (5 min walk from Avenida metro/bus station), friendly personnel
