A bit more information about the area and potential excursions would have been great.

The beds were not the best, but we slept well:).

Fantastic experience - a little heaven on Earth. The hosts were nice, and we stayed in one of the apartments with plenty of room:). The location was soooo beautifull, and the old vineyard was just the top of it.

Nothing, just want to go back;-)

The Quinta is stunning, beautiful situated, with a view to die for. We were staying in a house apart from the Quinta and its appartments. Our boys had there own ‘mancave’ and could play their musical without anyone hearing. We were with 8 persons, but had 3 bathrooms and 4 bedrooms. So that was perfect. The garden is beautiful, de swimmingpool really nice, but now I am only talking about the stones and material things. Because this Quinta has a heart as well. Her name is Fernanda. She is the manager and takes care of everything. She makes you feel welcome like a friend. She is a strong woman. She cooks if you want to eat at the Quinta and makes sure you have fresh bread and coffee in the morning. She is everything that makes this Quinta the best Quinta there is!

This didn't bother us, but helpful to know - there was no wifi and no tv in the rooms. This is a place to disconnect and relax!

This place is truly a gem! We felt like we were stepping back in time to a 19th century wine estate. The location is secluded and idyllic but we borrowed bikes from the house to get to nearby towns and wine tasting. Perched on the top of one of the Douro Valley hills, the top floor has a breathtaking view. The staff is fantastic - Fernanda made us home-cooked meals every day that were farm-to-table in the truest sense: wine from the family vineyard, chicken and lamb from the family farm, fruits and jams from the orchard next to the house - it was delicious and so special. This was our favorite hotel stay in Portugal!

There is no air condition in this house and it is very hot during the summer. Wifi is only available inside the main building. There is no wifi inside the apartments and not near the pool

We stayed in an apartment which is actually a private house with a garden and great view. The house was completely new. It is very spacious, clean and comfortable. Large rooms, 3 bathrooms, stovetop, oven, dishwasher.

One day the room was not cleaned as they did not have an extra key. One evening we came back and the building was locked, of course they apologized. Breakfast was limited and not very diverse.

A lovely place and the staff was wonderful and welcoming. The vineyards around the building are very impressive. A special experience.

Nothing really - I'm just fussy about matresses.

The most helpful staff, who were so kind to us after we crashed out hire car ( watch the insane drivers here!) - they waited up for us until 2am for us without a complaint. Truly magical location - delicious organic homely food prepared in the old house is a must. Played tennis each morning followed by swim & volley ball. Loved the freedom of leisurely breakast in our room. Kids loved the dogs too.

We didn't know the only method of payment accepted was cash, so we had to walk for an hour to the nearby village, and discovered that on that day the cash machine run out of money! So we had to go there twice. If we knew we would have taken money out beforehand.

This is the perfect place is you want a relaxing holiday! The location is breathtaking, in the middle of the nature. There is a pool, a tennis court, a ping pong table...and you can also go for a walk in the nearby vineyards! Fernanda, the governess, is the best cook ever!!!

Beautiful estate surrounded by vinyards, fields and forrest with view on the magnificent Douro river. The estate has everything, pool, tennis court, gardens and even a chapel. We had a great time and really relaxed. Fernanda spoilt us with delicious food for breakfast and dinner and outstanding friendly service. We wish to return soon and can only recommend Quinta de Guimaraes warmly!
