Supper - a fatal meat. With such a high price, food prepared at a low level, ( especially meat ). It's a pity because a place in a great location and a final reception of the place is reduced by a poor dinner

great location away from the village. delicious wine. Good staff.

The dinner was VERY average to say the least. The meat was chewy and the fish far too greasy. Also the vegatables were too salty. As such, our dinner was not enjoyable...and thus overpriced.

Fantastic location and facility with spectacular views of the countryside and the vineyards. Also, we were lucky to have enjoyed perfect weather.

Don't rely on Sat Nav as it takes you to nearest village which is about 2 miles from locatiom.

High price for the meals and services beside the room itself. Lack of availability of staff. Reception of customers could have been better considering the fact that there was a winery on this location.

Our room was right off the reception area which was quite noisy at times and we had no view, this for a hotel with outstanding views in their areas.

As the location is rural we decided to eat there this was a big mistake! There was only 2 options of each course to choose from and one of the mains was octopus which only left duck as the other option which my partner doesn't eat so they made her a vegetable pasta dish which was pasta with brocoli and cauliflower no sauce. The starter and main were both warm at best so stay for te experience but don't expect anything special with the food!

The room and location were stunning and the staff were friendly.

The location is nice and has potential but the place was not clean at all. The first room we were offered was smelling cigarette. We complained and got redirected to another one which was better. However, lots of hairs in the bathrooms. The floor under the bed was full of dust and towels were smelling cigarettes. The walls are very thin so unless you like hearing your neighbor and have a a deep sleep, don't go there!

    Nice location, good view.

Staff were unfriendly and check in person was quite rude, its a 6km drive into Town if you want to go someone else for dinner, we had two rooms-one on ground floor and one on first floor with unbelievable rooms, bathroom not great-old fashioned with shower curtain that sticks to you when you shower, bedroom very basic and not great value for money but again its all about location location location

Amazing property, the views, the pool, the hotel, staff, vineyards..the list goes on. When staying in the Douro Valley you'll probably be renting a car and this place is ideal in terms of location, close to other towns, surrounded by vineyards. The room itself was extremely clean and properly stocked. The staff were amazing, so friendly and extremely helpful! I highly recommend this place and would love to come back.

Unfortunately the shower and phone in our room were broken and the internet was poor. The pool wasn't cleaned when we were there either. It's a lovely place if you want to relax and see the Douro however there is no entertainment and as the internet is unreliable, bring a book!

It's not a dislike for us, but for anyone wanting amenities close by, you won't find these easily. We found only small grocery stores in Pinhao (it took us 2-3 hours walking into town). Not a problem if you plan to eat at the restaurant or have a car, but for those expecting to find picnic lunches easily, this is a bit trickier due to the location (the peaceful setting and relaxation more than make up for this!).

The staff were very accommodating and friendly, food (breakfast and dinner) and wine were delicious, and the setting was breath taking. We spent most of our time walking around the vineyards, and heading into Pinhao, as well as part way up the miradouro de casal loivos. It was a fantastic two day break from the hustle and bustle of our time in Lisbon (before) and Porto (after).

The only negative was the TV in my room . Very old with poor reception and limited channels. No English channels so I had to go to the lounge to view . This wasn't an issue on the night as there were only a few guests being off season and I was able to view what I wanted. I wake up early 5am ish and like to watch the news channels so it was a little annoying.

The location was magical and was set in a very picturesque peaceful countryside location overlooking the hills and mountains and vineyards as far as the eye could see. The people working there were professional and friendly . The hotel and facilities were very well maintained. The room itself was well finished with lovely solid wood floors and matching wood framed windows and doors that were superbly installed. Breakfast was very good with a wide selection on offer. Top location and well worth an overnight stay!

For the price the dinner proposed is a tourist trap, better meal outside, just go down to Pinhao. The swimming pool is a bit small for adults. If you had a cheap rate you may live on the ground floor close to the reception desk, check it prior booking.

Staff entertained our every request, were friendly, helped us in English and responded in a timely manner. The facilities and the views were breath taking. This Quinta, located in the heart of the Douro offers some of the most breathtaking views of the valley, offering views pictures cannot do justice. The room and the pool area are well appointed and go a long way to put you at ease and create a peaceful atmosphere. Room was very clean and offered a good mix of character and modern touches. Breakfast and Dinner were good with Dinners being served in a more formal fine dinning atmosphere and breakfasts being more casual served buffet style. The quinta's strengths lied in its wine selection and knowledge by the staff. My fiancé and I enjoyed a lovely wine the night of our stay. Would definitely consider coming back.

Lack of hot water in the morning. I thought the price of dinner at €30 euros per person was a bit high, especially since wine was not included. And though it is certainly not something the hotel has responsibility for, bring insect repellant, the mosquitos come out at night.

    Nothing!

We absolutely loved the quaintness of this hotel in the heart of the wine country with surrounding views so picturesque and peaceful. In the two days we spent in the Douro Valley, it was always so relaxing to return to the Quinta do Silva to have a Portuguese dinner with wonderful wines. One evening we were honored to be introduced to Senhor M., the elderly vintner who educated us on his award-winning wines. Day or night, the views from our window were endless rolling plateaus of vineyards, or mesmerizing star-filled skies. Each morning after a delightful breakfast of fresh breads, cheeses, and meats, we walked various paths around the property. Also, I had left my computer tablet in the room after checking out. The kind folks had mailed it to my home in Colorado, USA. Thank you for a most enjoyable and memorable Portugal experience!

Nancy and other staff were fabulous. Room was very comfortable with all facilities including electric jug. Walked around vineyard and sampled their great wines. Stayed two nights and walked to and from Pinhao. Loved our stay and tuna salad for dinner.

The hair dryer did not work in our bedroom.

A beautiful setting, with a lovely garden, where you can sit and enjoy the views. We ate at the restaurant for two nights and both meals were excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful.

    Nothing.

Connecting with elderly wine making owner. Views of valley off the Duoro stunning. Not far from Pinhao. Great wines produced on site.
