Funchal has hills, big hills, so if you don't like walking up or down hills, book somewhere closer to the seafront! One minor negative is that despite having cups and a kettle, the room had no tea or coffee, and the kettle smelled disgusting. No doubt we could have fixed this with the staff if we wanted! Our room was a bove the bar, where there was live music each night. It was a bit noisy on some nights, but didn't go on too late.

Lovely hotel, not far from Funchal old town and the sea front, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Buffet breakfast catered for all tastes. Bar, pools and sun loungers all clean, well laid out and never crowded. We had a lovely big room over looking the pool and with a sea view. The staff were friendly and flipped from French to English to German as needed, amazing.

Parking garage is okay if you have a small car, with bigger cars you need to be a good chauffeur! The hotel is a bit off the center, but we did not mind the walking.

We requested a quiet room and we got one. Also, we were upgraded to a higher category room, with a terrace and side sea view. The staff were very helpful. Pity we did not have time to use the spa facilities, as they looked good. Breakfast was great, with everything we needed.

Parking was included in stay, but a little tricky under the building. Spots were a bit tight, but easy enough to navigate.

Good location on bus routes including from airport (stop 12 is nearest- 5 min walk) with good facilities and easy access to the city and lots of eating places nearby. Very spacious rooms, very friendly and helpful staff, lots of social space. Excellent breakfast buffet!

Hot Pool was a great bonus, open to the outside. Free parking Breakfast was very good, Staff was super friendly.

The hotel is close to a big road so this can be an annoyance. But we didn’t mind too mich.

the location is great for exploring funchal. the breakfast is good. staff are honestly so lovely and helpful. huge thank you to Claudio, he made my stay very warming & welcoming. i really did enjoy my stay :))

For me it isn’t a problem but at the first floor the music from the main restaurant is very noisy until around 9pm i think.

Placed in a nice area with the car u can get everywhere. U have free parking. Breakfast is very wide and very good. They have nice different schedule at the main restaurant every night. Nice indoor and outdoor pool.

The wifi in my room wasn’t really stable

The location was great, the hotel was beautiful, I had an ocean view room. It was at walking distance of a few nice spots. The staff were very nice and welcoming.

Little bit of a walk to the centre of Funchal.

The gym is pointless. Only four machines and a weights bench! The car park spaces are very tight and limited. You have to get back early to get a space. No moisturiser in the bathroom.

Everything was marvelous. The staff are very helpful, especially Catarina. It's nicely located just a 15-minute walk from the center of Funchal. The spa is very well-priced.

Amazing staff, the kindest I’ve ever met I think! I recommend Magnolia to families, couples, pensioners, group of friends…everyone will find their thing! Located around 15-20 mins walk from the center which is a must afger the hearty breakfast!

Everything was perfect, location, food, facilities. It was clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly and smiling. At the Christmas time the hotel was nicely decorated and the atmosphere was great!!

We liked everything in this hotel. The staff was very nice and helpfull all the time. Heated pool was great, room was big, the hotel has free parking and even location is very good. Big variety of food for breakfast.
