The air conditioning went out in the building..very uncomfortable. I wish there was a coffee maker or hot water heater in the room.

The hotel has not been able to provide general items like blankets. They have duvets but not a light comforter or blankets, which we need for a bit of comforting warmth for a comfortable sleep in a summer with air conditioning running.

Staff service always with smiles, always helpful either to take care of issues in room or our help needed. Although the hotel is a bit aged, things are mostly operating quite well, and minor issues like leaking faucets, door hinges, etc. can occur. But they have been promptly resolved.

Seven of us choice to have dinner in the hotel restaurant.The menu, and wine selection was varied and the quality when it arrived was good.... Our issue was we waited 1hr, 20mins before the food was served, even though only a few other people were dinning. The staff were appologetic,but it did dampen our evening.

The staff were extremely helpful, and on site parking was available.Thank you to the reception staff on our arrival. Our room was situated at the front of the hotel, very close to the main road, so we could here traffic noise. The hotel is situated on the Douro River, with wonderful views from the rear of the hotel.We could imagine rooms on this side, would be much nicer, but at a premium.

On the first day checking in, our lady was a little short with us. Happens! 2nd morning, she found our room available for one more night. Guess what, we stayed! We had lukewarm hot water first night. Next morning it was much better. The hotel is showing some age. Time for upgrade. Bedding was good, though

We got the river view. Give up the King room, whatever, for the river view. Very quiet and the balcony view oh my. A little swim after long boat ride in pool. Great breakfast.

we needed air conditioning at night, the rooms were very warm. When we asked, we learned that the AC had already been shut off for the season. Loud noises (moving furniture & tools) at night. Staff suggested we stay on the first floor next time.

I find 4 pm check-in times inconvenient, and even then my room still wasn't ready. They did, however, let me store my luggage.

At first it seemed like a cold business hotel, but Patrice at reception really went out of her way for me. She booked a winery tour and tasting for me at my next stop. As I was only staying one night, it was good to be near the train station.

Limited choice at dinner. Needed robes in river view rooms to use on the balcony.

Superb location with great river views and ideal for catching one of the local river cruise boats. Breakfast was excellent, the dinner buffet a little limited and main courses not very tasty.
