The price seems high compared to other places in area. The accommodations and service were comparable. It would also have been nice to have a couple of small tastings included with the free tour for guests.

View and room were very nice. Tapas plate was fantastic.

The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was wonderful with large fluffy towels and lovely scented lotions. Loved the added luxury of a towelling gown and slippers. The breakfasts were a huge spread of delicious, local produce.

The hotel is a little bit out of date and needs some refurbishing. I would not say it is luxury, although the price would indicate so.

The views are amazing and the food was really good, both breakfast and dinner. We enjoyed the wine tour, included in the price, a lot.

We drove for over an hour trying to find the hotel. GPS didn’t recognise the zip code, only 2 signs in 15 miles. Then, no-one answered the phone when we rang for advice.

    Breakfast was wonderful.

Very peaceful and quiet location with superb views of the Douro. Access not easy by road, but worth the jaw dropping drive. Great wine tour of the winery.

Reception staff reluctant to help us organize a wine tour for the next day because the late booking would make the task 'complicated' - did not go above and beyond to provide good customer service to guests

Spectacular setting in the middle of the Douro Valley, large rooms, beautiful view, amazing restaurant

Staff are tired and not very interested. No internet connection at the rooms, only in some public areas but you have to introduce the password every 10 minutes....again and again, trying to send an email is a long and exasperating experience. Tours of the winery are programme 3 times a day but you can't choose when to do it, they assign you one. Once on the tour they rush you in 25 minutes and give you a minimalist single taste of their cheapest wine. Dinner was of very low standards, very overpriced. Waiter at breakfast wasn't friendly at all, close to rude. After staying on another winery, we realised Quinta Nive although a beautiful place, wasn't worth it's reputation. Quite sad, as it has the potential to be fantastic, sorry. Quinta Vallado it's paradise compared to this and for the same price. We had a 3 hour wine tour with 5 tastings, completely free and with the most friendly and knowledgeable person. Breakfast was much better too. Would not recommend.

Nice property on the Douro river with good facilities. Very nice views.

30 Euro taxi from Pinhao Train Stn...windy roads; despite booking.com saying selling fast, only 2 rooms occupied; no welcome drink ; no cooked breakfast options - not even eggs; our order for wine/sandwich forgotten had to chase it up after 45mins - was refunded it ; no fitness/gym area; pool not heated or seating round it ; construction work ongoing; no offer to carry bags to/from room; food options limited/ 42 Euros for set dinner (albeit v tasty for first night) - having stayed elsewhere at half the night price and 3 times the service/facilities - overall disappointing

welcome chocolate first night; jam gift in room ; Hiking trail marked out - albeit the part in orchard needs cutback/remarked; dinner was very good albeit 42 Euros. lovely ambience with candles/wineglasses set out at tables in an evening; nice lounge areas; built a fire for my friend when she asked

Our dinner was terrible; the food was terrible, dry, no flavor. The service was horrible; they left us after bringing the dessert, without asking us if we wanted tea or coffee, and we sat there for 45mins before just leaving the table. When we talked to the manager, the waiter came out to argue with us, instead of just apologizing. The drive there is scary up the mountain, and no lights at night so you're stuck with the restaurant as the sole dining option. We will never go back.

The room was nice and clean.

We successfully navigated the twisting, narrow, unlit and guardrail free one lane road up from Pinhao in about thirty-five minutes during the afternoon. Spectacular views. However our friends who joined us for dinner didn't arrive until after dark and found the drive up and back long and terrifying. Make sure to have a Garmin or other navigation device to scope out the twists and turns if going up or back in the dark.

Perched high on a mountain side near Pinhao with wonderful views overlooking the Douro River. Comfortable public rooms in the lodge with simple but quiet sleeping rooms. Excellent dining room with attentive service. Make sure to arrive in the early afternoon for a tour of the winery facilities and afternoon wine tasting. Make reservations for the tour, dinner and if leaving early (9 AM) checkout in advance.

It is extremely stressful to get there as it is at the end of s long , narrow, winding mountain road. I would recommend taking the train from Porto and the staff will pick you up at the station.

The facility is phenomenal. The Room was large and very well appointed with extremely comfortable beds. The bathroom was also large and the products first class. The restaraunt was exceptional with a wonderful menu and excellent wine pairings. The wine is very impressive. Sent a case home

Main library beautiful and the outside lunchtime seating very nice. Fabulous wine, good food! Very peaceful and quiet.

Breakfast had no muesli, fresh fruit, coffee luke warm and service poor. Could not tour the winery. Had travelled 250km to try the Mirabilis 2015 but none was in stock to taste.

Evening meal was superb gourmet cooking with beautiful wines. The location is superb. The activities fascinating.

Room was on the small side, felt a bit of stepping around feeling. Breakfast was so-so and being one of the last to arrive made it worse when some of the food laid out was gone. I would say on the expensive side on a whole.

Great location in the vineyards and Douro views. Outside areas were nice and relaxing. Restaurant was worth the trip. Staff did a good job of check-in and trying to line up a tour, allowing us to check out an hour late since our wine tour was cancelled. Nice walking paths.

Long twisty drive along narrow roads to get there, but worth the effort.

Beautifully refurbished farmhouse style hotel. Not many rooms so it feels spacious and exclusive. Fantastic views down over the Duoro river, particularly if you do the suggested walk around the vineyards.

Nothing was bad except I felt the price for the dinner and drinks was too steep. Very expensive one-night stay.

One of the most beautiful locations for a hotel. I loved how guests are welcomed to get up close and explore the vineyards which are so incredibly gorgeous and go on and on along the Douro valley. The hotel room is quite comfortable and clean and the little hotel complex is quite relaxing, peaceful, and beautiful.

Excellent food in their outdoor restaurant, good own red and port wines, outstanding views every where you look. Nice pool area where you can relax. Good air-conditioned room. Many walking routes through their wineyards and beside Douro river.
