Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

New ZealandObviously it is a restaurant and is very loud from 6:30pm-12:30am. But we expected this. Unfortunately the door from our room to the terrace where the restaurant seating is wasn’t closed properly by staff during cleaning I’m assuming, so the soundproofing didn’t work for the first night. We noticed this the following morning when we pulled back the curtain. After closing properly it was significantly quieter. The double shower curtain on either side is a bit awkward, at all times you have a curtain touching you. Would be a lot better changing to glass for bathroom side.
Great size room, very clean and modern. Staff were very welcoming and nice. Can’t beat the location, definitely recommend ubering to the top of the street when arriving, rather then the bottom where it will default to when putting the address into uber. Included breakfast was so so good

United KingdomNot really too much of an issue for me, but curtain had to stay closed as window looks directly out on to teh outdoor dining area of the restaurant
Air conditioning was great when Lisbon was hot for the weekend I was there. Bed was pretty comfy and shower was strong

Former bakery right next to trolley tram lines. Nice bedroom facing out through glass doors onto the roof terrace restaurant...so be aware to close the curtains if you're going to be moving around your room in a state of undress! Great food in restaurant and a generous breakfast

PortugalRooms were rather small. The noise from the restaurant kept me awake on two nights with large, raucous parties.
Location, great breakfast and friendly staff. Room was clean and serviceable.

United StatesThis location is difficult to get to. Not for elderly or mobility impaired. ***Be sure to use the transportation service they recommend. It is right next to "the Elevator" tram. BUT the tram makes no stops.
The staff was wonderful. They were very helpful and courteous. Five star service! The breakfast was great and the food in the restaurant was the BEST we enjoyed in Lisbon! Be sure to sit on the terrace under the lemontree and enjoy the view of the narrow streets and the river in the distance.

NetherlandsAs there is also a restaurant it can get a little noisy at night. We were fine with it, however it is something to take into consideration.
The place has an amazing location and the staff is incredibly friendly. Breakfast was also very good and nice to have outside on the roof terrace.

GermanyI had a wonderful stay at Santa Bica in Lisbon. The location is ideal, nestled in the charming Bica district near the iconic funicular and close to the city center, making it easy to explore the city. The highlight of my experience was the breakfast—it was delicious, freshly prepared, and served on a lovely terrace, adding a special touch to the mornings. The rooms were clean, cozy, and well-decorated, and the staff were warm, accommodating, and attentive. I highly recommend Santa Bica for a delightful and convenient stay in Lisbon!

GermanyIt's a bit weird that the shower and the clear terrace windows (clear)is located right next to the tables of the restaurant. But the terrace was mostly empty and the shower curtain well place that one felt only slightly explosed. Lisbon is extremely slippery after rain but this has nothing to do with this accommudation. Just be warned.
Very central and extremely nice and helpful staff. Very clean. The view from the terrace down to the Bica cable cars. Cute!

Czech RepublicThe apartment was dark as windows are heading to the restaurant terrace. Hence, you need to hide behind the curtains if you want privacy.
The personnel was great and super helpful, especially Luca and the breakfast lady. Also the location was great. Terrace and breakfast was great.

IrelandThe only downside is the terrace is off the bedroom which is lovely for breakfast but not great with the noise from the late diners. People were out there until 12.30 at night and there's only a door between your room and the dining tables. See picture attached Be aware of this before you book.
The room was clean and contemporary, the location was perfect. Our room was quite large with plenty of storage. The air con was ideal. The breakfast was lovely.

United KingdomWe had to wait half an hour for someone to let us into the property. The bedroom room led directly onto a terrace/bar area and we could hear everything - conversations, music - on the other side of the glass until 1am.

FinlandIf you travel with someone and you need much toilet privacy it's good to notice that on the otherside of toilet there is door but on the other side there is just shower curtain between the room and toilet. We have been married so many years that it didn't bother us :D
Very central location. Clean and nice room, very good bed, aircondition and WiFi. Excellent homemade breakfast. Very nice staff. Really nice terrace just outside the room and very good food in the restaurant. Little shops just around the corner and metro is nearby. Bottle of water in the room.

New ZealandIt was very hard to get in touch through booking.com. We wanted to drop our bags off early, but couldn’t be hold of them, and it was closed when we arrived at 1. It is a noisy location, so if you’re wanting an early night I would suggest earplugs, or find somewhere else. But this wasn’t an issue for us!
Nice modern and comfortable room. Great location! The breakfast was good as well. I really liked the 12pm checkout - as you don’t get to sleep until later due to the noise.

CanadaIt’s on the corner of a very hilly area. Uber will not go in and we had to drag 3 suitcases down several flights of stairs to get to it. I wish the property would have told us in advance and we could have used a taxi. We thought our Uber dropped us off at the wrong area when getting there, as it was at the top of the street where the tram runs. When we tried to get one in the morning we learned from a staff member they won’t show up there.
The bed and shower was great! The restaurant was fantastic! The people working there were very friendly and helpful and we had a wonderful evening. The chef personally checked us in and was helpful and friendly throughout the evening!
