Wow, what a gem of a hotel. This is a truly spectacular property that exceeded even our high expectations. The staff and service were fantastic and the place gives you an immediate sense of calm. The surroundings are absolutely stunning. What we also appreciated was that the food, drinks and activities were not overpriced, so you left feeling like you were not taken advantage of, which can be the case for a lot of high end hotels. The food was delicious and in beautiful settings.

Beautiful property with the most amazing decor. All the details were well thought through. Top comfort beds and linen, beautiful accommodations, fantastic common areas, great staff. There are not enough superlatives to describe São Lourenço do Barrocal. On a one to ten scale, they would be eleven!

More variation of vegetarian options in main restaurant. No strong tea eg English Breakfast

Room was very spacious with large bathroom. Lovely terrace where we had an excellent dinner via room service one evening. Very peaceful with friendly and efficient staff. Pool and grounds amazing although it was too hot to explore them as much as we would have liked!

Unfortunately we were not at all able to relax by the adult pool as there was one group of guests that let their kids scream and splash constantly for two days, completely disrespecting other guests. I would have expected the staff of a luxury hotel to find a way to make sure that all guests (also the ones without kids) can enjoy their stay, for example by asking the parents of the loud kids to use the kids pool. Also, basic drinks by the pool felt quite overpriced.

Rooms and facilities are luxurious, with a lot of attention to detail. The Spa and treatments were great too. The barbecue at the pool bar was a culinary delight.

We liked everything but it would be great if they changed up the dinner menu and their own wine could be less expensive given that your staying there.

This place is exceptional. It was one our best stays on our trip to Portugal, I couldn't recommend it more. It is a stunning property, the staff and food was great. Everything is beautiful, from the rooms, where you eat, the bike trails and where you can relax and have a drink watching the sunset. There is a beautiful town nearby that you can visit during your stay.

The rooms could have been better designed and equipped. No indoor or heated pool.

Very nice place, made with love and attention to details. Amazing area, you can walk for hours listening to sounds of nature. Tasty food in the restaurant and nice little winery on site. SPA is very cosy and beautifully decorated, the saunas for men and women are separate.

Honestly, there's not much to add to my 10 points. São Lourenço Barrocal, in my opinion, is the best hotel in Portugal. It couldn't be better, how the local natural landscape bounds it, the comfort, the staff, the food, and the attention to the smallest details. It was our third year in a row, and I hope to continue to come back every year.
