Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

United KingdomNothing. It was all wonderful
Fantastic hotel in the most beautiful setting. Quiet wirh only a short walk to the restaurants and cafes. Shuttle bus is available for those that don't want to walk. Buffet breakfast is very varied and includes fizz for those that haven't hired a car!

SwitzerlandBe aware that this hotel is „entangled“ by several steep roads, bridges and sharp curves, all contributing to significant traffic noise, also at night. We did not use the swimming-pool which looked from above a bit murky in the afternoon (people don’t use the showers!!!)
From the deluxe room, we had a wonderful view on the city and the sea. It‘s only 15 min by foot to the sea shore or to the city center. Within 10 min you reach Madeira Plaza (shopping center) with food court and supermarket (Pingo Doce). Parking is available at the bottom of the hotel. Breakfast was ample and of good quality.

PortugalThe Junior Suits are excellent and specious, beautiful designed by Nina, breakfast was outstanding, fresh fruits and lots of savouries, nice coffee and fresh juices, the views are stunning over the Funchal Bay and Mountains. Free parking is a bonus, most other hotels charge €15 per day. We didn’t have dinner at Baia Views.

United StatesThe ONLY negative I have to say is Google maps will tell you to try to turn left over a solid white line into this property which is illegal and bad because it’s a blind curb. If you continue straight and double back via a round about it’s your best shot! Otherwise, all positives!
We did a girls trip to the island and stayed here as our main hub the whole trip doing adventures to and from via car. Massive pros to this hotel: free parking, easy to walk to and from town, or if you get a little lazy one night after hiking too much that day it’s a 5 euro taxi back from downtown Funchal. So accessible. The room we got was a two twin studio and it was perfect. We had a little kitchen which was great for what we needed, the mini fridge was a huge perk and a small balcony. The set up couldn’t have been better for our needs. Plus the free breakfast really knocked it out of the park. We were able to grab good food before leaving for daily adventures and even get bananas for the road, or return from sunrise hikes to food which was also great since it was open from 730-1030! Overall we spent little time actually enjoying the hotel but we did break up our activities with some spa treatments which were lovely and fair priced as well. All around, no complaints for our style of trip.

United KingdomNegatives would be the tiny balcony, only having the water cooler at the spa, gym and on the 'deluxe' room floors, and despite having the gift for our honeymoon, we were originally led to believe that we would have a room upgrade from the messages with the customer relations manager but this did not come to fruition - we would rather have not been told that our room was being upgraded to find out when we checked in that it wasn't. All in all a decent little stay and suited us really well for our trip.
The Views Baía was altogether a really nice hotel and experience. The location is good, easy to walk into Funchal, and easy to drive to and from. The staff generally were very attentive and friendly. Big positives were lovely pool (and it's pool bar), great spa, breakfast had loads of tasty options. Bed was comfortable and room was pretty decent. There were incredible views at different areas of the hotel. We were celebrating our honeymoon and the staff also left us a bottle of prosecco as a welcome gift which was a nice touch. We got lucky with the parking but I imagine this can be a bit of a free for all at the wrong time.

United KingdomIf you have any doubt about booking, don’t. It feels luxurious in a good way. The pool and spa are lovely, and you can visit the spa as many times as you want. The staff are welcoming. The food and drinks were great and on days we were tired we chose to stay and eat at the hotel rather than walk into Funchal centre. We hired a car and we were always able to park. The hotel is up a hill but other reviews made it out to be much worse than it is, if you’re coming to Madeira, you should expect hills. Would definitely stay again.

AustriaSome negative things, because of the high price: No table on the balcony. The pool close at 9pm. Would be nice to drink something at the pool at night, because it looks very romantic with the light.
Very nice hotel. Very quiet because it‘s adults only with no kids. It‘s expensive, but i would book it again. The adults only was the biggest reason we wantet the hotel and we would book it again. It‘s a perfect experience.

NetherlandsThere was a mix up on our final day about check out time where one day it was confirmed a later time and on the checkout day a different time. The issue was quickly resolved. Not a big deal.
Stayed 1 week in the Junior Suite for first time in Madeira with my husband. Couldn’t have been happier with our choice to select this hotel, everything was great from the start - and thanks booking.com for the room upgrade ;) property is beautiful, our room was very spacious and clean and comfortable. There is enough parking, and the views from everywhere in the hotel are absolutely breathtaking! I particularly liked the swimming pools (indoor & outdoor) and the jacuzzi - particularly helpful after long hikes! All wait staff are courteous - we would 100% stay here again!

United Kingdom- honestly there is nothing I could complain about. The only thing to be aware of is as the property is above a main road, the noise by the outdoor pool is quite a lot but nothing headphones didn’t fix.
- Stunning studio bedroom with small kitchen and separate space we used for keeping our things/eating/getting ready etc. comfy beds, clean and we loved the eco option to opt out of a daily clean for €3 per day voucher for your bill. Great incentive! - the spa is so relaxing and an amazing view from the pool - tasty, affordable drinks and food menu - the breakfast was varied and delicious! Mimosa and Bloody Mary station an added treat for that on holiday feel. - safe car park

United KingdomWhilst the choice was excellent across the breakfast buffet, catered for all tastes, was plentiful and was replenished regularly the cooked elements at breakfast were never very hot.
The View Baia was a beautiful, quiet hotel sitting above the city of Funchal with amazing views to the mountains and the ocean. The facilities were amazing including a fabulous spa (including indoor pool) and outside pool. The rooms were clean and there was a good sustainability policy where you could choose the day(s) you wished to have a thorough clean getting a small refund to your bill for days where you were just happy to have bins emptied and a refresh of soap/water etc. There was a small, well equipped gym which was good as being on a steep hill it was difficult to go out for a run. There was live, appropriate, entertainment every evening in the cocktail bar which was very popular (we always had a cocktail after coming back from eating out and listened to the bands/singers and it was a lovely way to finish the evening). The hotel was centrally located so was away from the very busy touristy area of Funchal (the casino and Lido end) which was much more to our tastes and it allowed us to walk into town every evening (approximately 15min walk) to eat (the hotel provided shuttles into town but we preferred to walk). We felt the prices at the hotel were incredibly reasonable (we live in Kent so this is comparative to prices in SE England) and were very much on par with everywhere we visited on the island. The staff were super helpful. Overall I would thoroughly recommend the hotel for location, facilities and ambience.

We stayed in the Deluxe Junior suite, a beautifully appointed and spacious room. The views from the hotel were stunning and the pool and spa facilities made for a very relaxing couple of days. The inclusion of breakfast and dinner each day made the stay very enjoyable and the opportunity to book at Desarma for dinner was lovely. One of our favourite holidays to date, amazing customer service.

IsraelWe loved our stay at the Views hotel. But it seemed unusual that they didn't have/offer help with luggage and you have to remember to specify what days you want your room cleaned.
My wife and I stayed 5 nights during August. Clean comfortable room with view of Funchal. Great swimming pools and spa with plenty of available chairs. Breakfast was plentiful, tasty and diverse. We also had 3 delicious dinners while they played different music each evening. The hotel is a kilometer downhill walk to the marina and night life. We rented a car and the hotel location made an easy daily drive to Madeira's beautiful sites.

United KingdomNothing I am aware some people write the location due to the hill to get to town but I would honestly it is fine- if you travel down through to the carpark and cross to head towards the small bar with umbrellas that can be seen from hotel then it is fine.
EVERYTHING! I couldn’t fault any of it.

GermanyThe mattress was like cement - I would recommend using different ones or softer toppers. Traffic is very loud when you open the room windows. l. It does not show in the pictures how many main streets actually run by the hotel. This is not the hotel‘s fault but guests should be aware. Luckily it’s not as loud around the pool area.
The hotel is run efficiently and professionally. All interactions with the service team were great. Friendliness all around. Booking the deluxe package / experience was worth it: room with a nicer view and a reserved breakfast table with à la carte service which helps you avoid the usual buffet shuffle. The rooms are nice - good space everywhere and well maintained.

Everything was amazing, all the staff members were so friendly from the reception, to the house keeping team. It's spotless, the breakfast was great and full of options. Their customer service is over the top, it doesn't matter if you need to plan a visit, an early breakfast (they did opened the breakfast for me at 4am cause I wanted to do a sunrise hike for my birthday) and then when I came back they offered me an other breakfast with view. And then when I went in my room to rest, they brought me a bottle of sparkling wine and a card to celebrate my day. Honestly, I do travel a lot in hotels, and this team is far from the best I've ever seen. Thank you to all of them, you are stars.
