As for the location - yes it is close to city center but there is a lot of uphill and downhill walking to get here and there. Maybe not walkable for some people. Also parking is a little challenging but not impossible.

This is a great little B and B. Very tastefully decorated rooms and ample quality breakfast. It is some way from the town centre in a very hilly city but Uber was very reliable Great hosts.

Spotlessly clean house which was both pleasantly modern but still with character. Great location - just far enough outside the historic centre not to be touristy but still an easy walk (even walking back up the hill after a big dinner in the centre). Delicious breakfast. Super helpful and knowledgeable owners who gave excellent restaurant recommendations.

Beautiful restored home with lovely communal spaces. We had the first floor room (2nd floor US) with a terrace and bathroom across the hall. It was excellent. High ceilings, lovely decor and good air conditioning. The hosts were lovely and breakfast was amazing!

The property was a comfortable and beautiful renovation of a century-old house. Every room had so much character. Nice shared living room with tables and comfortable sofa. Picnic table in the lovely garden. Breakfast was delicious, with coffee, fresh-squeezed juice and an array of rolls and pastries, fruits, cheeses, and sliced ham. Eggs on request. Even walnuts from the garden. The hosts, Sonia and Jonah, did a wonderful renovation of this lovely old home, and they go out of their way to make the guests feel at home. We arrived at night after a hot day of travel and were greeted with an invitation to have a cold beer. We plan to come back!

Our stay at this guest house was perfect. The location is ideal: just a short walk from the historic center of Coimbra. The property is beautifully maintained, and welcoming. The room, with private bathroom was tastefully decorated, with a very comfortable bed and everything you need to feel at home.The hospitality deserves a special mention: the hosts were incredibly kind, helpful, and eager to offer great advice on where to eat, what to visit, and how to get around the city. You can truly feel the genuine care they have for their guests. Breakfast was excellent, with fresh local products, ( the host, granted our wish to have pastel de nata) served in a lovely common room Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic, relaxing, and well-organized stay in Coimbra.

Net curtains in the windows. The people sitting on the balconies opposite could look right into the apartment. Needed to keep the shutters closed.

Absolutely nothing - it was perfect.

Lovely, welcoming couple have renovated the house to an exceptionally high standard. The rooms were beautifully furnished & very comfortable. We were fortunate enough to have the room with an en-suite bathroom & terrace. One evening we made use of the living room on the first floor. There was so much choice at breakfast & the hosts give the impression that nothing is too much trouble. We would love to come back to Vila Julieta & highly recommend a stay here.

We found nothing negative about this property. It is on the hill overlooking Coimbra, and the walk back from the centre might be a slight challenge for some people. But the local Uber and Bolt drivers are not expensive. If we were tired we booked an Uber and it usually cost about 4 euros

Vila Julieta has been recently renovated by Sonia and Jonah. Really it was a total reconstruction, and it was done with style. Our room was clean and spacious and the bed was great. The bathroom was quite small but served us well. And there is a separate wash basin between the bathroom and bedroom. The communal kitchen was just opposite our bedroom but we didn’t hear any noise in the morning. Both Sonia and Jonah were great hosts. Very friendly and always helpful. Their restaurant suggestions were great, and they handled our booking for a fado evening at the aCapella.

This has been one of my favorite stays so far—everything was absolutely perfect! The house is beautiful, the rooms are incredibly comfortable, and every detail is thoughtfully designed. The space is fully equipped with everything you might need. The bed was especially comfortable, making for a great night’s sleep. Breakfast was a real highlight—delicious and varied, with fresh pastries, fruit, granola, eggs, a selection of hams and cheeses, breads, and a wide range of drinks. Location was excellent too. We were able to walk to the downtown. Most of all, the hosts were wonderful—warm, welcoming, and attentive. We would absolutely love to come back!
