Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IsraelThere were some little things that didn't work properly: the button of toilet flush got stuck frequently and the hot water was inconsistent. The glasses in the room were dirty. Also it was very sad for us to see so many fish confined in such a small pond in the garden.
The room was very comfortable and pleasant and the bathroom was spacious. It felt very quiet and it had wonderful design with natural materials. The garden and the view were beautiful. We had a great sense of privacy. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

AustraliaMy only suggestion would be to consider offering an earlier check in time. 4pm check in felt a little late in the day.
We had a wonderful stay here. The service was great, and the hotel had such a nice, peaceful vibe. The bonsai tree garden was absolutely beautiful and serene. The location was also perfect for exploring the area.

The garden was fantastic all the way around the apartment. The apartment had a Japanese feel to it. Never stayed anywhere like that before. There was koi fish swimming around the ponds. Rooms were clean. Had a small terrace for ourself. Staff were very friendly. They had the Bonsai shop were you get discount for renting with them.

GermanyThe interior has seen better days, especially bathroom furniture appeared in a very used condition. It was quite humid in there too.
Nice, unique outside area to sit, it has a fully equipped kitchen and is quite spacious. Toiletries are available. Good location, easy parking.

SerbiaThe apartment is spacious and even more beautiful than in the photos. The garden is truly Zen, beautifully arranged, with plenty of koi fish you can feed. Great location – bus stop right in front, and an Uber to the center is about €6. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and we could leave our luggage at reception before check-in and after check-out.

PortugalThis is a truly magical place. The moment you arrive, you're transported straight to Japan. The bonsai collection is exquisite, and the entire atmosphere is stunningly beautiful. If you stay overnight, you get full access to the museum's serene garden. And make sure you see the carp and turtles—they're a special highlight all on their own!

RomaniaLack of privacy. You have large windows that lead right to the outside path. I did stay just for one night, so it was not a big issue because I was mostly away.
The location is good (20 minutes walk to Sintra). Parking is accessible and very convenient. Street parking. The Wifi is good, with a stable/unstable connection.

United StatesThe bed was low and short: (tall husband,)and the room a bit damp if air conditioning wasn't on. Bathroom a bit run down, but clean. Quite a long walk down hill on busy street to old town.
The Zen garden was a lovely reprieve. The ability to park our car (and be near town) was important.

BelgiumOverall a pleasant stay — the location was great and the staff friendly. One downside was that the room was very humid, which unfortunately also affected our luggage. With better ventilation or a dehumidifier, it would have been much more comfortable.

HungarySome minor things, but they are typical "first world problems". Need to wait a bit for hot water in the shower. Door needed to be locked to stay closed, however this may not be the case for all rooms. These things vanish from your mind quickly with smiling turtles and Bonsai trees outside your door.
Our stay was a marvelous ensemble of comfort and peace. The first step in the museum you are greeted by multiple different shapes and sizes of bonsai trees with fountains softly bubbling in the background. The staff was very kind and helpful in every way. The room was a cozy cabin with a decent bed, refrigerator, climate control and private bathroom. At night it is very quiet and restful. We would sip our coffee in the morning in the chairs outside, waking up to fresh air, birds singing and koi and turtles swimming in the fountain. It's what the doctor prescribed to relieve stress. The location is just outside the Sintra national park with very easy access to buses, Uber and CP train station. Sintra historic downtown is a good 15 minute walk and if you're ambitious you could hike to the Moorish castle / Pena park in about 45 mins to avoid some of the crowds. Sintra is about 40 mins to Lisboa and roughly 25 mins to Cascais via train. You can also purchase a 24 hr transport pass that covers CP rail / metro and buses in Sintra and Lisboa for a very reasonable price - just ask at the CP station booth. That all said, we were very impressed with the establishment and the location. We actually extended our stay by several days and have 0 regrets. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.
